Why is it that more men die from suicide, even though women attempt it more?

This is something I am really wondering and thinking about. I read that men are 4 times more likely to die from a suicide than women. But women attempt it more. These are written statistics. This is very hard to believe. George Carlin talks about this in one of his specials. What do you think about this?

well, i think it's because men are too hasty in making decision, they thought of jumping off from the building without thinking twice, by the time they reach almost reach ground, it's too late.

as for women, they are so indecisive, they have no idea whether or not to die, they attempt once, and fail, try again, and fail too...probably.

Men tend to use guns, where women prefer poison (like pills).

Poison gives you more time to change your mind and call for help.
