The Angels are the only team in the AL with a winning record (Yanks are currently at .500)

There are 4 teams in the NL with +.500 record on the road.

  1. I suppose the road schedules for the AL are just worser this year as in their flight and travel schedule.  Or more longer road trips.  The Red Sox considering how good they are, are actually 8 games under .500 when playing on the road.  It has been wierd.

EDIT: And on an NL note, Ryan Dempster picked up like his first road win the other day after owning 10 home wins.

  2. I know its getting strange. Thats why Angels have best record in basbeball cuz they can win on the road. I guess home field really does matter. Look for the world series winner to play great on the road in October.

  3. The amount of games the Red Sox have played on the road is more than they've played at home this year.  Too many west coast trips.  Couldn't answer for the rest of divisions only that the yankees have played 9 fewer road games this year.

  4. Cause lets be honest how many teams are going into fenway and winning on the road no one you cant go into tampa or yankee stadium and expect easy wins the east is owning the league at home

  5. It is not just the Al but the NL teams are having the same problem.  The Braves are 31-20 at home and 17-33 on the road and only three NL teams have a winning record on the road.  It is a sign of the times and it has become much more difficult to go on the road and win.  The home team has the ballpark prepared to benefit their team,  such as leaving the infield grass long to slow down ground balls if they have speed on their team and watering down the base path to slow down runners if the other team has speed.  There are a lot of little things the home team can do but it is apparently a lot easier for a team to win when the players experience home cooking and hear their cheering fans at just the right time in a close game.

  6. Obvioulsy you have not looked at the NL. They are not much better. They only have "3" teams above .500 on the road and not 4 as you stated.

At least the AL doesn't have an entire division playing under .500.  Just to think the NL west will have a division winner from that. LOL!

  7. the NL is better :]
