  1. Why the success of the black and other minorities as the Australian natives want to be explained by the cultural challenge. The success in the sport is a too complex phenomenon to be explained by sicología of second. How we can explain the success of the majority of the athletes, any nation and any ethnic origin, who live in comfortable conditions. The classic argument that the black are successful in the sport to escape of the poverty he is less reasonable and but racist every day that happens. The genes are not going to determine that are the best runners of the world, but are going to circumscribe the possibilities. Kenyan and the other African of the east have an innate capacity, an innate ability not to paradestacar itself in the races basic; the individual effort and the anger, differentiate to the pretending ones from stars of the sport. The success in the sports is a see-social phenomenon.

it would not have never to be forgotten that the genes are not the definitive factors in the performance of the athletes of elite. Whereas the genes will determine if it has chance of being an elite athlete, intelligence, the dedication yla luck is the final referees of whom win and who loses.

  2. black ppl have strong muscles. they have one plus point than white ppl as they are chemically strong than whites

  3. I'm going to have to go on a limb and say that it is completely cultural. Obviously there are individual genetics involved but in a general sense, I do think that culture plays a large role.

Descedents of Africans are found in many different countries, but only a few countries produce competetive athletes, usually due to prestige, popularity, and economics involved in the sport.

Generally speaking, here in the U.S. whites have been culturally pushed into sports like swimming and gymnastics. It is usually seen as a negative when a non-white joins such a sport.

  4. People from the tropics have longer legs, it's called a 'tropical limb length', which gives them a longer stride.

You'll notice it's Bantu ancestry people that win the sprints, and East Africans that win the long distance events. They have very slightly different musculature. West Africans get very powerful short bursts of energy, but it's not good for long distances. the reverse is true for Kenyans, who have one ethnic group the Kalenjin, who produce most of the worlds top marathon winners.

This item measures some biological differences between races.

I've asked a black relative why she doesn't swim. She claims she sinks like a rock. Who knows. Maybe an tropical eviroment with leeches and parasites doesn't encourage swimming much.

  5. Very few in tennis, fencing and gymnastics and archery too.

I read its hot wired into the Jamaicans' genes because they are from West- African descent. I'm from West Africa and our runners totally suck. Our footballers aren't bad, though.

  6. According to d**k Gregory (I never checked into if its true or not), whites have long torsos and short legs. Even tall whites their height comes more so from their torso then their legs. Blacks have longer legs and shorter torsos so they have a longer span when they run.

  7. Something else to consider is opportunity.  It costs very little to run;  you just need a bit of space, no fancy equipment.  But for swimming, a pool is needed.  That can be a rare commodity in many places.  But check out this link:

It's a bit about Cullen Jones, who won a gold medal in the 2008 Olympics.  There's a quote from him, which I think is great, where he says he thinks of himself as a swimmer, not a black swimmer. Cool.

  8. It's hard to say. I suspect it's partly genetic. "Races" are a product of some degree of separate evolution, and thus the properties of different races may differ a bit.

There's also cultural stuff. For instance, in Jamaica, athletics is really super popular and glamourous, so a lot of people are motivated to do the sport, and so the very best of that larger number of people is likely to be better than the best from a smaller number.

Also, there's athletics coaches deciding what sport to train a budding athlete for. If the consensus of opinion is that black athletes are genetically better suited to sprinting, coaches will select them for sprint training. Non black people may think themselves unsuited for world class sprinting, and so not apply themselves to it.

Note also how, until recently, it was thought that being tall was not a good attribute for being quick over 100m. A tall person wanting to compete in athletics would be trained for middle distance etc. Now post Usain Bolt's amazing performance, maybe scouts will go after tall people for sprint events.

    Basically, it's complicated!

  9. its genetic.  I believe i read something once, that said genetically black people tend to be more muscular, have longer legs and their leg muscles are more twitchy which leads to being able to run faster and jump higher.

  10. A lot of it is culture, economic and opportunity.

Take basketball. Many African Americans play the sport and see it as a chance for advancement, prestige and economic security. That's quite a motivation to do well in it.

Nations that produce great runners also have a tradition of running. If you grow up with runners, you'll likely be a runner.

"tennis, fencing and gymnastics and archery" are all sports that require considerable investment in equipment and training. They are also not as common as basketball. What do you see more of, Basketball hoops

or pistes? (point made if you don't recognize the term)
