Why is it that my hamster doesnt like bedding in her sleeping area??

every time i put some on there, she shoves it in the tunel thing and it blocks her from getting to her food!! so of course i stopped putting some there but i'm still wondering why she doesnt like it. any ideas???

She may not like it because with the bedding it gets very hot.  My hamsters, I have 2 in one cage, don't like bedding in their sleeping area, so the male shoves it into the tunnel, like yours does, and blocks them from getting down.  I think another reason they do this is because sometimes it's nicer having each other for company (obviously since you only have one, this isn't the case,) so they don't need the bedding.  But your hamster may not need the bedding while sleeping, because the purpose of it is for pee to go and not get on the cage, and for soft interior.  When you're sleeping, you don't pee, and she wouldn't need a very soft interior because of their bodies.  Does your hamster still have SOME bedding in the sleeping area?  She needs some, but if she doesn't want it in there, she obviously doesn't need it.

Maybe the bedding is a bit jagged. Or too rough.  So it would be uncomfertable. Or its too warm with bedding. Probably should get softer bedding.

She might get too hot in there, especially if the sleeping area is made of plastic.

Chances are that the bedding is too hott and the hamster needs to cool down

What bedding do you use? If you are using aspen shavings, some hamsters do not like that as bedding for their sleeping area. I use aspen shavings for hamster bedding but always give them some ripped toilet paper for them to make their sleeping area bedding and it always works out that the hamster only uses the toilet paper for the bedding. If I don't put toilet paper, the hamster sleeps without bedding but never uses aspen shavings. I guess it is something to do with their preferences. I suggest you give your hamster some ripped toilet paper (unbleached, untreated and non fragrant) too, maybe she would prefer that soft material for her sleeping area.
