Sometimes the top ten seems so random? For example, Jason Mraz' "I'm Yours" is on there. That song has been available for a loong time and suddenly it's on top? And M.I.A's "Paper Planes" that's been out for even longer she even had that feature on MTV and in all sorts oof magazines. I am by no means ahead of the game when it comes to most music so why are these songs just now breaking top ten? Oh and this happens a lot these are just recent examples :P

  1. "Paper Planes" is referred to the Pineapple Express song ever since it was on the trailer.  "I'm Yours" just started playing on the radio (it might have been more convenient if they've started playing it before the summer is about to end).

People find songs earlier than other people.  For example, some knew "Hey There Delilah" two years before it became popular.  After one night in American Idol, Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" was No. 2 in iTunes because someone performed it.  It depends on how people heard the song.  It's the radio and TV that helps people find music that's been out for such a long time.
