Of course we need gas this is why we don't buy 1-day out of the week and yes we have people riding the bus but you still have that car payment you still have to pay $6.00 for a gallon for milk for your kids every thing is going up but your pay checks and because of gas, it cost the trucker to bring it to you so yes hit them in the pocket

one day a week don't you know in your town where you live what days a good day to hit them in the pocket.

this is why thing are going as they are you have to think of every little thing for people this is why all your right's are being taken away slowly next you be told to be the house by 5.00pm no one aloud on the streets after 5pm

Come on people Send out your e-mail in what ever state you live in if your gas is not over 4.00 gallon then don't you worrie about it here after working all week the only way we unwine is to take a drive some where to come back to work after a weekend off Do you need someone to tell you what's in your wallet too.

  1. You are mistaken.

"boycotting" for 1 day a week is not going to work.  People will just buy extra the day before and their sales will barely hurt.  In one country in Europe (I forget), they are actually banned from driving 1 day a week.  That will work.

It isn't the BUYING that is the problem.  It is USING that is the problem.  So we have to stop using.

Are you ready to give up your car for 1 day a week - EVERY WEEK?

Are you ready to stay home and do nothing on Sunday - EVERY Sunday?

    Good Luck...

  2. boycotting gas one day a week will do nothing

i live in a rural area with no mass transit and i got a 20 mile drive to work

im boycotting christmas this year nobodys getting anything cuz i gotta buy gas

  3. What L.N.aF. says. It's not the buying, it's the using. Reduce the demand on oil and prices may fall.

Your car is only part of the equation.

    Think beyond it.

Reduce reuse recycle plastic. Yep, plastic. What's it made of? Petrol products. Paper or plastic? Neither! BYOBag.

Buy organic products, not just food. Clothing, hair products etc. Why? What are traditional fertilizers and insecticides made of? You got it, petrol.

Reduce your dinner's MPG. Eat local meat, dairy, produce. You'll help your own local community, economy and reduce fuel needed to fly, ship, truck it in from wherever.

Of course this may mean you need to lay off the junk food too. ;-)

These are just a few things we can do to reduce demand for oil (and therefore price)

  4. Lov is correct. A one day boycott will not do any good. People will just buy gas on a different day.

    It will have zero effect.

US citizens have to realize that the glory days are over. You can no longer have an SUV that gets 10 mpg. You can't afford to drive wherever and whenever you want.

If you want to do something useful, picket the nearest coal or oil power plant. Picket your nearest Hummer dealer. Send letters to your government reps demanding more public transportation, more solar plants, more wind turbines, more nuclear plants.

    .

  5. "Boycotting" by not driving one day a week is all fine and good if you live and work in an area where mass transit is available.  If, however, you live in a rural community where your job is 5-10+ miles away with no bus coming to pick you up on the corner, you HAVE to drive.

  6. wont happen. People today are too self-absored and fat and lazy to engage in any mass social protest. Good job MTV and velveta.
