Why is it that people point out China won more golds than the USA?

But they never once mention that China won more golds than Australia, or Great Britain, or France, or the Czech Republic, or Russia, Japan, Malaysia, Bhutan, Bulgaria, Bucharest, Romania, Algeria, Tunisia, Iran, Germany, Italy, Canada, Mexico, Brazil, Argentina or Spain??? While the debate rages around the world as to what's more important (overall medals vs golds should only be counted) in deciding the winners of the Olympic games, it can be summed up it's either China or the USA...that much is clear. Does that make all the other nations that finished with fewer than 50 something golds or 110 overall total losers....and if so....why doesn't anyone call them losers...is it just the USA that are losers to them? Have they forgotten their country didn't do as good either or is their hatred of the USA all that makes them happy? Your thoughts please.....

  1. because usa has won more gold medals in the past games.

but this time China won most gold medals

  2. Maybe they think that topping the overall medal tally is losing, IDK, Glad the US doesn't think like that. I just ignore weirdos hon here the try to start trouble.

  3. Dude, where have you been, the U.S. could have won the most gold, and the overall and "some" Brits, Aussies and Canadians would still call them losers. That's just the way they are.

Like water off a ducks back, don't let it bother you.

  4. we're the world's only superpower, foreign jealousy comes with the territory.

  5. If you are in the US, of course you are going to hear more about that then anywhere else! If you lived in Canada, then you would probably hear about that more...Russia the same thing.

I think the main thing is that for the most part the US and China were the main competitors. Not to take anything away from the other nations, its just that the overall counts were higher for these two nations than any others. It seemed to be a battle between the US and China alone so that's why people were focused on those more than any other. I think anyone who makes it to the Olympics in the first place is a winner, so I proud of ever athlete that was there!

  6. americans aren't good losers. They won't learn, so China will simply have to nuke them into submission. Before that, they'll take their money.

  7. Because America was the closest to them and the fact that America was showing the Count as them in first because of the MEDAL count not just the GOLD medal count

  8. They topped the gold medal count.

    So what.

  9. Its just because the Americans cannot accept being defeated- second best so they have to make a big fuss about the situation saying China cheated and judges were bias.

All other nations are happy with what they have achieved and will accept whatever place them came on the tally. After all its the athletes that win - not the country.

So America - its over and done with now so give it a rest!

  10. Who cares, they are just a bunch of petty whiny foreigners that are looking for someone to cry about since their country sucked at the Olympics.

Can you think of any other reason they care so much how the US tallies medals?  I can't.

  11. Its because everyone hates the seppos, who stroll around claiming to be the best at everything, and everyone else was happy that China won more gold medals.

You win more gold, you have more first places, and can claim first place.  Who cares about the minor medals especially when some competitors, from an unnamed nation, threw their medals on the ground?

  12. this is my take on your question. first of all they see the number of gold medal as the best of the best. the overall count doesn't mean alot if your country collected more second and third place hardware.

the USA is still look at the best among the rest of the world and if you can beat the USA in any sports events you have beaten the best that the world have to offer.
