Why is it that people think that Roe V Wade was actually about giving women rights?

instead of taking them away. If you look at the reasons leading up to Roe V Wade, it was not about killing a baby, it was about the forced sterilization of female prisoners. If you want a history lesson, why don't you look up how Roe V Wade gave permission to parents to have their own daughter sterilized and REMOVED the rights from the daughters to have legal representation during the hearings held against them and took away their right to sue afterwards. I bring this up since it seems to be a big deal these days when picking a candidate, and it is always used to misrepresent the ability for a woman to choose what goes on in their body.

  1. The Supreme Court's decision says  "right of privacy, whether it be founded in the Fourteenth Amendment's concept of personal liberty and restrictions upon state action, as we feel it is, or, as the District Court determined, in the Ninth Amendment's reservation of rights to the people, is broad enough to encompass a woman's decision whether or not to terminate her pregnancy."

It's about privacy more than anything else.  Republicans, if anyone, should respect that since they don't like the government sticking their nose into things.

  2. The controversial case of Roe versus Wade empowered women to enjoy the right of choice as against the caprices of men.

  3. I think that it means more then just a woman's right to choose  in today's times. Its the for-front of a much larger concept of every ones Right too choose on most of everything. I think it will come down to weather you want to smoke pot, have salt on your food, watch p**n, smoke cigs, marry some one of the same s*x, or drink a beer. These are the freedoms and allot more are out there just like it, that i was promised as an american. These the things that "The Church" finds demoralizing and unclean. They are not for the church/ republicans to decide. I feel they are for me or you as a free person to decide.

  4. Because people are puppets to the media. They hear it from people like Keith Overbite oh I mean Olberman. And they think they are some type of God and if they don't listen to them, they are not in the "in crowd."

  5. Roe v Wade is the 1st Commandment in the liberal bible.  You're playing with fire by injecting logic into it's history.

  6. Because it was about abortion rights, and had nothing to do with forced sterilization of female prisoners.
