Why is it that....?

Even though all these people are starting to admit that global warming is happening because of hurricane katrina, the Myanmar tragedies, the polar bears populations decreasing, the fungus that has killed all the frogs in panama, but, you all still refuse admit to being wrong, and that this is happening, what is wrong with you? Why don't you just grow-up and try to be a part of the solution; instead of sitting here saying that Gore is just trying to make a profit off of it?

  1. I'm an AGW proponent, but I disagree. There is virtually no proof AGW causes more natural disasters; that's merely speculation. Hurricanes have actually been on the decline since '05, if I'm not mistaken.

Krissy: you're inaccurately equating weather with climatology. Perhaps one region of the world  had a cold summer, but if you look closer you'll find another had it's warmest. The net effect is exactly what AGW proponents have predicted: warming. The world's mean temperature continues to rise.

EDIT: some of the most recent disasters--earthquakes, mostly--have absolutely no relation to global warming.

  2. The opponents of what you are calling global warming are for the most part not saying there has not been a shift in climactic activity.  They are just reminding the tree huggers that it is not caused by people.  Natural shifts in the global mean temperature have been occurring for eons.  Global warming activists (read fanatics) are wrongly implying man caused it and / or can fix it.  Grifters such as Mr. Gore are fleecing the uninformed out of millions while consuming many times the average American houshold's energy requirements on a daily basis.  So perhaps the environmentalist wackos SHOULD grow up.

  3. interesting comparison about the countries' leaders.

however, as attractive as it is, you shouldn't confuse weather with climate.

when we look back, we may be able to do that, but, while there are some expectations, you can't blame any specific weather event on climate change.

and no, they're not going to change their minds.

they are really convinced that if this country gets behind climate change, gasoline will become more expensive (it will anyway) the government will dictate what kind of car they can drive, and their taxes will go up.

since the only thing they care about is tax cuts, even if it means deficits, and stealing money from their children, it's way beyond the realm of possibility for them to support addressing the global warming issue.

  4. The dispute seems to be focused on the "why" and people actually take time to argue it, instead of just admitting, YES ..

"Were not in Kansas anymore Toto..........."

And to dismiss ANY element of all these anomalies in nature, why not "think" about the how would warmer weather play a role in tectonics. Experts can't even commit to any single theory or hypothesis about the "why's", because we have no prior experiences..............our weather and climate have been perfect for the past 10,000 years, which is in part responsible for civilizations advancements.

It's a NATURAL cycle and nothing anybody or any country(s) can do will reverse it. Possibly man did accelerate it, but isn't that a rather moot point now ?
