Question:

Why is it that ?

When I am reading questions in YA science about space etc, people keep answering that god did this and god did that. No offence but I don't remember my school syllabus containing anything about god creating the universe.

We are all free to believe what we want but please don't come into the SCIENCE question and fill it with answers about god because that more for philosophy.

Please don't take offence to this because i don't mean it that way, it;s just annoying when someone wants an answer for their school work or something and someone gives god as the answer.

  1. What is this YA science and space thing?  I don't know what it is but maybe it is a religious magazine?  Religious magazines focus on creationism and the original sin as the foundations of evolutions.  Most modern magazines such as Scientific American do not usually bring up god, they focus soley on the scientific aspects of the subject.

To some people, especially those in the bible belt south, their answer to everything is god because religion is extremely important to them, and they dedicate their lives to it.

  2. Well I see what you mean but the existence of god cannot be proved or disproved and it really doesnt matter. My point of view is that ,so far as sciece can tell, the universe came into being about 15 billion years ago and started as a small body which was very dense and became unstable and became a nuclear furnace in which all the matter, time  and radiation was formed. In the intervening years life formed and eventually thinking mankind that seeks an explanation for all this. What this means to me is that either a) there is no god....and we are free to seek knowledge or b)god caused it all and part of his(her) design was that inevitably creatures would come into existence who were his creatures and they would wish to see all of his wonders without let or hindrance.

I don't thing you should get upset by small minded people who would discourage you from your own opinions, after all by claiming god keeps secrets they relieve themselves of the burden of learning.Nor should you upset them, because you can't prove god's existence or otherwise,or what gods will is.

  3. Sweetheart, you make a good point. Science and God peacefully coexist until we try to figure out how and when the universe got here. Most everything else can have some kind of scientific explanation. There is physical evidence all over the universe that can be studied, and a substantial amount of this physical evidence does not contradict with the Bible. There is a buttload of Christian scientists that have made huge contributions to medicine, industry, technology, and other major fields, and it is a sure bet that their religions beliefs didn't interfere with their scientific work. It is when people cross the line and claim that the only way humans got here, for example, was through creation or evolution. Then it becomes philosophical, because no matter what evidence both sides present, the question has not been resolved to anyone's satisfaction in thousands of years.

  4. How the universe was created is a controversial question.   You can believe whatever you like.

  5. Ok, I will not mention who created everything, but you need to read page one in Genesis to realize that when you use the word "create" you can only be talking about a creator.

Of course there is another explanation, and it too requires a great deal of faith to believe, and you should be able to answer questions in school by explaining both theories, (or possible explanations).

If you were to compare the two explanations you will soon realize that they are not the same, so a combination explanation is not reasonable, (ie: it got started with an original creation and then the other process took over).

If you decide that creation is in fact the explanation that you believe, then you will realize that there is a big plan in place and that some things are still happening or will happen in the future, and many scientists agree with that view.

There are lots of verses I could suggest you look at, but try these in Isaiah ch. 45, v. 18, 19, 22, 23. and John ch. 3, v. 16.

I hope I have answered your question about creation and not offended you by mentioning the Creator by name.
