  1. Don't be offended, people in this section are just more open minded than in religion and spirituality,  To many Christians there, can't get a word in edgeways.  It's just a safe place to talk.

  2. i guess, people think that Wiccans, are all witches, and people think that witches are a myth?

it saddens me as well, but one day people will find truth and learn about things...

    i hope...

ive seen a few post that wanted to make a section for non religious or spiritual people

and suggested athiest and wiccans be one.... :| :(

  3. Because the people who made the system are ignorant.

I'm a Christian (kind of) and I think it is ignorant and disrespectful to consider your beliefs a myth.

  4. I've oftentimes pondered this myself.  Probably because folks that aren't familiar with our beliefs don't truly understand it's a religion.  Either that or they just aren't paying attention to the category they're choosing.

  5. Because there are less radical fundies here.  Plus, IMHO, all religions are based on mythology and we should all be here.

The word mythology (from Greek([μυθολογία] (help·info) mythologia = mythos + logos)[1]) refers to a body of folklore/myths/legends that a particular culture believes to be true and that often use the supernatural to interpret natural events and to explain the nature of the universe and humanity.

  6. I agree, Paganism is a religion older than Christianity and shouldn't be treated as mythology.

This is my non-biased opinion, I'm agnostic.

  7. Stupidity and ignorance on the part of the poster far too many of whom appear to be illiterate brats too lazy to go to the library or learn to do an online search properly and then shudder there's the spelling ....

Far too many people posting here have no undestanding of why Questions about Mythology and Folklore are in a separate section to Religion and Spirituality.

Hence we get requests for free  psychic readings that should go to the Paranormal section.

Then there's the people who think if that's the word of witches and  spells as "folklore" and ask for nonsensical new age spell and oracle sites!

I wish they would use a dictionary!

I would look to see more sensible questions about mythology and folklore and less of demands for love spells that work and other questions of that ilk!

Perhaps the section should be re-entitled Myths Legends and folklore and Paranormal changed to Magic and the Paranormal and Religion split into two or three sections?

  8. IT would be the Crucible all over again, Id rather stay hear. Most other God based Religion are not open to any other ideas, and to quote my crazy grandmother "dont want the powers of god coming down on then". lol! People hear Wiccian and think Wizard of Oz Green Wart-ed Witch with a broom. Dont even know that the practices, beliefs, and symbols are close &/or same. We all reconize a higher bieng. I stop telling people my relious preferences at work when a lady I got into an argument was rush out by Ambo in a diabetic coma, the wispers were I put a "hex" or "spell" on her. So ignorant!

  9. I agree with Druid that this section better serves people of that thought. Myth does not mean untrue but many people think of it as meaning untrue. I once tried to tell someone, asking about spirit guides, to go to this section as they had it in the religion section, only to be reported as not answering the question but I was trying to direct them to individuals that could best answer the question and feel sad that someone thought that I was being disrespectful. I suppose that myth means speculation or in other words-guess. I think that it starts with an "M" the same as mind or memory meaning- idea.

  10. Well a lot of us who are in R&S also have seen people blasted for asking a Pagan question.  So some people feel it's safer here.  I still prefer  that they are asked in the R&S section since it's about religion and not just one religion.
