Why is it that rain drops but snow falls? ?

I'm not sure if your comparing the right things.

Weather-people do report the amount of "Rain Fall".

"Rain Drops" are the individual drops of rain ('drops' as a noun, not a verb)

Well, there is such thing as rainfall..... so I guess you could say snow drops... lol. It's just tradition I guess, for snow not to drop.

(but as I said, rain does fall.)
