since smaller head rackets provide more control, wouldnt it be suitable for some beginners and such to use a racket that provides more control over power?

  1. Smaller head rackets provide less of a trampoline effect (less power), and require players to supply they're own power from decent stroke mechanics.  A beginner also tend to mishit balls more than an advanced player, and generally need a bigger hitting area. Still, I think a smaller head racket could really help a beginner learn the game faster.  A more "advanced" racket forces you to supply your own power and penalizes you, when you don't.

  2. its harder to hit the ball with a smaller head racket, so beginners start with those. the downside is that they have greater wind resistance when swinging.
