  1. There's a lot of reasons;

    1) Can't score high enough on the ASVAB

    2) HS Drop Out

    3) Medically DQ

    4) Tattoos

    5) Single Parents

    6) Criminal Background

    7) Too many dependants/Too much debt

Those are the most common reasons I see

  2. i wasnt.. maybe they have a bad criminal background!.. look into that.

  3. As far as I know the opposite scenario is the case. Standards are dropping, unfortunately, and now people are moved into positions that they would have never allowed to serve in before the Iraq war.

  4. Because they are of a generation of children who can send their parents to jail for spanking them when they need it. And if you tell them to pull their pants up because nobody else wants to see the skid mark in their underwear, you get slapped with a harassment suit. And they are the one's who, if they don't get the newest XBox game, throw a fit until they get the game and then spend forteen hours a day glue to the TV screen. And if they don't get the newest cell phone with all the best features and then use it to send text messages to cheat on tests. Did you happen to see on the ABC World News where four year olds are now the newest group to be obese? I'm probably going to get reported to Yahoo about my "rant" but the h**l with it. The kids today don't give a good G** D*** about anything so why would they what to be able to qualify for military service.

  5. i believe the military is being a little to picky, some teenagers are not physicaly capable of doing it or not interested at all, some kids make mistakes when were young before 18 and they use this against them to keep out of the service, which i think is wrong short of murder are bank robbery every person in this country has the right and privlage to serve their country, some bad apples come back better citizens and go on to college which they might not have other wise, its also selecting a small group f people to control in the military, don't want all our citizens to to be trained in military skills,, i think every person should do a mandutory 2 years in the service , ones that are physicaly able,, t time to un freeze the the armed forces from inlisting joe average, and not just the squeqky clean every day soldier, our military takes in former enemy govts personel and our kids have to to go thru a heavy back ground check, it time to make our military more diverse by the 50 states it represents, i'm tireed if seeing kids getting the heav ho because he had a dui when he was 16 or got a speeding ticket, this is the place to teach them to be up standing citizens, hoora

  6. Lack of interest on their part or lack of intellect - or both.

  7. They don't meet some or all of the criteria.

They have some physical fault - color-blind, flat feet, heart murmur, any number of ailments.

They have a mental condition, depression, bi-polar.

They fail the competency test, score low in reading and writing and comprehension.

Their documentation is not in order, cannot prove they are of legal age, or a legal resident of The United States.

    They have a criminal record.

  8. 1.  Can't pass the test  (about 1/3 of the population can't pass it)

    2.  No education credential / unable to earn a credential

    3.  Overweight

    4.  Too much criminal background / still on probation

    5.  Tattoos / body art

    6.  Weird medical stuff - eczema, outie belly button, lack of flexibility, etc.

    7.  Single parent / too many kids

The fundamental problem is lack of parental involvement.

  9. because the military holds itself to very high standards.   the physical requirements are  because the militray is a very strenuous career path.

  10. There are over two hundred medical conditions which can disqualify a person from military service. The link below is for those medical standards. Study Chapter Two. Some conditions are endemic in our society for reasons that challenge my understanding. Among them are ADD, Asthma, poor vision, bipolar disorder,  etc. When you add in illegal drug usage, poor written test scores and criminal records the pool of applicants that can qualify gets even smaller.

  11. Two simple reasons or a set of reasons: they have a criminal record, were a peace corps member, conscientious objector, didn't score high enough AND medical reasons.
