Why is it that some .. chihuhua pups.. well, their ears never make it standing straight up? ?

is it common for a chihuhua to not have completely standing up ears?

My chi's ears didn't stand up straight up until he was about 4 months old.

Bad breeding or a mixed breed back in the bloodline! I have always had chi's and it takes about 3-6 months for them to stand up but some never do!

Bad breeding. Sad, but true. Not everyone breeds to the standard, as  a result, there are chihuahuas that look like rats, have ears that don't stand up, are too big or too small, and on top of that, can have bad temperaments as well.
