Why is it that some democrats are going after Governor Palin daughter?

That is so low, they are so angry at Mc Cain for choosing her. don't be angry at Mc Cain, be angry at the Democrat party for not choosing Hillary Clinton.. Well the Democrats are against woman in general. Leave the kids alone and pick on someone of your own kind.... Who I really feel sorry is for Hillary, they did her wrong....

NO ONE is going after Bristol. They are going after Sarah Palin because of her support of awful policies, including the (obvious) failure of abstinence only s*x education.

Ive been a dem for 40 years. I remember how campaigns use to be ran.I remember when Kennedy and Nixon came to our town, everyone about 60,000 lined the streets. Both sides listened to each one and made their minds up on issues not on what has become a lot of c**p like today. I am saddened by the comments I see here from both sides.

They're not picking on her daughter personally.  It's because Palin claims herself as a supermom and conservative when it comes to raising her kids.  But this pregnancy contradicts all that.  This means she isn't that supermom she claims.  She obviously is out of touch with her daughter and wasn't such a great mom after all.  It's not that we are bashing her for not being perfect but the Dems are punishing her for being a hypocrite.

I think they are just trying to hurry up and smear Sarah Palin to cover up for the bounce in the polls that Obama didn't get after the DNC nomination.

These people that are doing this and behaving in this way are some of the same people that were smearing Hillary Clinton just so they could make Barack look better.

Some of them are the same guys from the Left and in the Left's media machine. I think they are just afraid that a Woman can accomplish more then they can in life... I suppose it scares them in a way.

Sarah is like the secret weapon that they never seen coming and she took them by complete surprise so the Leftist are going to sink so low to even smear Sarah & her family and her children, even though those type attacks were supposed to be off limits.

I feel like I have to make this clear. Not everyone who is bashing Palin's daughter is a democrat. Reporters will do anything for a good story, and because Palin was so unknown before her VP nomination, the country was eager to find out new things about her.

The fact that they were able to find some faults in her family life was nothing other than gold for the first reporters who found it.

I do not see why you are automatically shifting the blame onto Hillary Clinton though, it seems very random if you ask me. Other than the fact that Palin and Clinton are both women. And they did nothing wrong to Hillary, she has been treated with great respect and has been granting great respect back to the rest of the democratic party. Also, as far as I am concerned in reading over the issues, I think that the democratic party as a whole is more for women than the republican party. Just because she was not nominated does not mean the whole party is against the whole female population.

I think some of these acusations need to be thought through more logically.

While some individual bloggers may leave unfair comments about the daughter, all well known democratIC writers and politicians I am aware of are not attacking that girl.  We all wish her the best at a time she is probably a little scared (as are 30-something new moms).  

But Gov. Palin is an adult and has agreed to run for the 2nd chair of the world's most powerful nation, and that implies agreeing to gloves off for her.

But while it is wrong to say personal things about the daughter, it is legitimate to note that Gov. Palin has stressed ABSTINENCE ONLY s*x-ed, and it is legitimate to note that it hasn't worked out so well in her own family.

As far as going easy on Palin because Clinton was wronged--Palin is the anti-Clinton.  Don't imagine the two have anything in common except XX chromosomes.  There is NO reason a former HRC supporter should think twice about McCain for bringing Palin on board.  Its actually something of an insult to HRC and a dozen other Republican women politicians.

Simply put- the hypocrisy.

While I agree that it isn't fair or right to do so- it is very easy to understand.

Part of it is that if you base it on experience, Governor Palin has more than the top of the Democrat ticket.

Part of it is that with the exception of being from Alaska, she is the personification of who senator Obama disrespected in his bitter comments in San Francisco.

Nobody is going after the daughter.  The issue is the hypocrisy of Ms. Palin.  Do you understand that?  Palin wants Abstinence Only education for kids, yet her family is a monument, a case study, proof that Abstinence Only does not work.  In fact, kids who get only Abstinence Only s*x ed have the highest rates of VD and AIDS and unwanted pregnancy.  You don't want that, do you?  You don't want kids dying of AIDS because they were denied the knowledge of how to avoid it, do you?  Please be reasonable, you know Abstinence Only is a bad idea.
