Why is it that some people are 19 and im still 18 (born in the same year)?

some people i know are 19 and they were born in exactly tha same year as i was and im 18

i was born 1989 (november 12)

why is that ?

That's because their birthday is earlier than yours. Your birthday is towards the end of the year while the people who are 19, their birthdays' are towards the beginning of the year.

If they were born before November 12th and before the current date, that would make them 19.

Obviously you haven't had your birthday yet and they have.

Hopefully they are smart enough to figure this out.

Those people that you know had birth dates that were July 19th (today) and before, meaning that they turned 19 within six months and 19 days of today.

Example:

You are born of November 12th and your friend is of October 12th.  (Both 1989)  Your friend is one month older than you and within that one month your friend is nineteen and you are 18.

Because they have already had their birthdays for this year and you have not.

Seriously??  Because their birthday comes before yours, in a month ranging from Jan to July...how can you be that old and not know that?
