I do have astigmatism and people say that you can't wear contacts if you do. Why does it matter weather or not you have astigmatism? I wore comtacts for a while and then my right eye started to hurt. But my glasses get in the way so is there a type of contacts that won't hurt my eyes because I have really bad astigmatism.

  1. People are wrong. There are contact lenses for astigmatism up to 6 diopeters, and they are just as soft as the normal ones. It is true, however, that RPG lenses will grant you slightly better visual acuity, as they retain their shape better than the soft kind. You should consult an optometrist and get fitted with astigmatism fixing contact lenses.

  2. They are contacts for you.

  3. yes there are contacts for you, however they cost about $250.00 a pair and are not as soft as regular contacts....they have to be specially made to fit the shape of your particular eye....astigmatism generally causes your eye to a little oddly shaped and that is why most people with it cannot wear regular contacts....they would not fit and you would not get a clear view if part of the contact was not touching you eye...good luck!
