  1. I hope that I don't pester others.  No one however, has a happy life every second of every day.  I feel good about my adoption, and adopting 2 children, however I will never say that my life is happy all the time, that would be a lie.  Actually I have a lot of compassion for those who have not had a good life, either biologically or being adopted.

  2. I'm not sure that everyone is all that continually happy, it's just that  people cope differently with difficulty, they either keep it to themselves/withdraw, whinge and whine about it, do something constructive like talking to a trusted family member, the teacher at school, the whoever can help you with whatever the problem is, some that go over the top to be happy to cover their insecurity and others who criticise others to cover up their insecurity.

Some people though do manage to actually have pretty good lives with very very few problems apart from trivial ones and may not know what it feels like to actually have a real problem or to feel really depressed or angry about something. This might mean they think that other people are just moaning.

Other people also think that you should buck up and get on with it. Some people are stronger than others though, it's both the way we are born and the way we have been brought up. So how we cope with something difficult is very unique to one another. Some people manage to brush off bad experiences very quickly while others the experience will stay with them for quite a long time, even their whole lifetime.

  3. I don't mind pestering but when so many hide behind thumbs up for morons, it's pretty sad.

  4. I wonder that myself.  Apparently Mr. Atwood doesn't keep her busy enough in the sack.  She's got to have something to do with the other 23 hours and 55 minutes of the day.

  5. I think they feel the need to be the adoption language police and of course they need to be here to tell adoptees and natural Moms never to search etc etc because they believe secrecy is best for the adoptee.

Oh and to throw out unsubstantiated waffle, and innacurate claims which lack statistics to back them up.

    Just thinking out loud.  Goodnight:)

  6. I agree!  I belive its because they want attention.  I think those who don't get or have never gotten attention want ANY even if it's bad.

  7. Hi Brain,

I have to agree with Kristy, it seems like a power struggle is going on.

Brain since you just signed up today, how is it that you KNOW so much about what is going on here?   Are you an old friend coming back??

Dear Brain i don't know who you are but i think i already like you, LOL!

  8. It is the whiners that seek the attention, as far as they are concerned no one should be a happy adoptee. Sad really

  9. because their not really happy, if they make fun of adoptees.

  10. Maybe it is because YA! is so often almost one-sided against their viewpoint.  Perhaps they feel they need to be extra loud so that people who come here looking for real answers realize that not everyone is negative.

  11. Because they are an adoption industry plant.

  12. I'm not sure, you would think that those who are all full of sunshine would be off skipping through rainbows and not here busting the chops of people simply because they talk about their experiences.

But, whatever, people are people so why should it be......

  13. Hi Brain,

    I think I know who you are...haha!

I think people that pester others are oftentimes NOT really that happy with themselves. Making other people feel bad about themselves makes them feel better about themselves.

This happens everywhere - playgrounds, workplaces, adoption forums...

  14. One word: insecurity.
