Why is it that sometimes a balloon doesnt pop when you squeeze it?

i mean when a little baby squeezes a balloon it doesnt alway pop. it has something to do with volume and pressure

  1. When you squeeze a ballon, the soft rubber of the balloon allows the air to change it's shape.  If the balloon is very full, then squeezing it will stretch the rubber past it's breaking strength, so it will pop.  But as long as the rubber has not reached it's breaking strength, it will stretch more to allow the air to move when you squeeze it.
