  2. Because they don't have to. Just like you don't have to say the pledge of allegiance in school or put your and over your heart or stand up.

  3. Perhaps they struggle with it because English is not their first language.

  4. MOST athletes do not sing, independent of where they come from. In fact, I've seen more Americans sing than athletes from any other country. And who knows, maybe they're singing in their "silent voices".;-)

  5. Some do and some don't.  It's not a requirement.

  6. During the medal award ceremony? Probably because it's so cliche and people make fun of it.
