Question:

Why is it that - the deeper the ocean, the less saltwater occurs?

Is it just due to the fact that as the temp decreases as you get further deeper - the water looses the ability to hold salinity due to the relationship, Salinity = Density x Temperature

...or is it something else like land erosion isn't as significant at deeper depths?

  1. As water gets colder like it does at the bottom of the ocean it will loose some of it's salinity.  The fact that there is more pressure towards the bottom may also have a little to do with it also.


  2. um i cant answe the whole saly answer because idk but it has more pressure deeper down because its lyke holding all of the water on you
