Why is it that there was no talk about change for the future in the Republican convention? ?

I heard them talk about things of the past. Most of it about John POW status. But there was really no talk of the future. How they planned to fix things for America. I heard a lot of bashing of Obama and his policies but no explanation of what they were going to do just keep going back to what other people have done in the past. I don't care about the past I care about the future.

  1. You know why ?

Because they have no intention of changing this country, you can't hide from the truth(their truth) !

I listened to Parts of Mccain's speech & the pundits who listened to the entire speeech said he didn't outline how he'd change the mortgage crisis, unemployment, affordable healthcare,etc..

Same ole same ole...4 more years of BUSH !

  2. Well Obama's speech was pretty strait froward and list what he want's to do so everyone can understand. McCain did talk about the future plans. He didn't list them specifically so only the sharp minds could understand.

Dam McCain! he should be more liberal and dumb down his speeches so everyone can understand.!

  3. I heard a lot of talk about the future in that speech.  Were you watching the same convention speech I did?  Nevermind, you just admitted you did and that you have no idea what you are talking about.

As far as specifics go, do you really want to go down that route?  Obama gave the same speech John Kerry gave 4 years ago and forgot to mention how he is going to pay for it.

  4. I heard lots of talk about the future in McCain and Palin's speeches the last two nights.   I also heard lots of talk about Changing the way things are done in Washington.   My personal favorite, was McCain's statement that he would veto any frivolous spending bills that came across his desk and he would make sure the public Knew who wrote them and voted for them.   That would be something that would shake the foundations of the old machine in Washington, and make our congressmen accountable.

  5. Because the GOP is nothing more than a large pile of elephant f***s.

  6. they traded in Ann Coulter for Sarah Palin

  7. Obama's camp likes the word "change." McCain's camp likes the word "reform." Palin especially drove that one home. They did talk about change, bipartisan cooperation, etc. Their strategy is different though. Obama focuses on change, because he really doesn't have a past or experience to flaunt. McCain talks about the past, because he's not "with it" or shiny and new like Obama.

  8. You were not listening.  They talked alot about it.

  9. The Republican elite are masters of manipulation. They change the dress every four years but it's still the same old hog they're trying to sell us. Look at the policies John McCain put forth tonight - identical to Bush's platform in 2000. And this country can't take any more of it.

But at least we heard some policy discussion from McCain. The rest of the convention there were no ideas, no discussion of how the economy will be fixed, no hint of exit strategy in Iraq, no mention of Afghanistan. It's nothing new from the RNC, with the exception of the cast of characters attacking Obama.

  10. Well they did say they were the "real" change this country could believe in. But your right they didn't really define that.

  11. You need to get your hearing checked. Change was mentioned several times throughout McCain's speech.  There was no personal  bashing of Obama done by John McCain.

  12. The RNC was a back to base moral building device.  The general media hates the Republicans and the Conservatives so this is their best shot ate recruiting new Republicans as Obama is recruiting new Democrats.  It's what the Republican party did during the Carter administration, while the Democrats thought the Republicans were basically dead from the Whitewater scandal.  Obviously Carter's version of hope and change brought 12 years of straight Republican presidents.  With Obama, Reed and Pelosi running the country there is a very good chance that the Republicans will be able to start making a comeback in later elections.  People won't care about Bush like they stopped caring about Nixon.  The American people will demand yet another shot at change.

  13. Cause Obama patented the "Change" slogan...

  14. John Mccain had his list  -of shallow strategies . Kind of like driving through a very small town -if ya blink you will miss it.
