Example I always thought the Novotel was a good brand of hotel, but when I stayed in the Novotel Wolverhampton .. well lets say I was a little disappointed lol.

  1. I agree. Although sometimes, you should feel reassured by Hotel chains, it is sometimes disappointing.

I had the same feeling with Best Western and Thistle.

The Marriot and Hyatt have so far kept their promises in term of standards.

Another chain which of course in another field is the Holidays Inn.

  2. Yeah I've had the same kinda experience! Stayed in Thistle at Selfridges London. Certainly disappointed with the room! Windows wouldn't open, couldn't operate the air con (I was very drunk at the time, but tried it again in the morning and still couldn't get it to work!) bath was water stained, no mini bar, curtains weren't hung properly!

Thankfully this was a works trip so I didnt have to pay, otherwise I'd have complained!

  3. It is due to lack of governance or supervision by the locals

  4. not the same prices either either that or i was bumped. plus they scrimp on quality cos theres more need and custom in the cities

  5. Hilton and Novotel are budget hotels what do you expect?

  6. Hilton is NOT a top quality hotel!  Novotel are budget hotels, wouldn't expect any different, they would be higher spec in cities as they have more competition.
