I put a lot of spin on the ball and I'm sure that has a lot to do with my problem, will new strings help? recommendations?

  1. Well, first off, considering you use a lot of spin when you play, this is almost going to always happen with your strings,no matter what type of strings you use or what type of string pattern you have on your raquet. What I can help you with is maybe reducing this problem and that is by maybe trying a hybrid blend of strings such as Gamma Zo Power(Gray strings) for the mains and Prince Synthetic Gut Duraflex(See through white colored strings) for the crosses. Now considering you put a lot of spin on the ball, these strings should provide you with some more extra control for your spin, but also give you a extra pop of power too.Go out and try yourself different strings and see what you like. I have a similar style of play to you and also had this problem, but noticed that my strings would never get bowed out after I used this string combo.Well good luck and have fun playing!

  2. The answer could be as simple as finding what's known as a string saver. It is a little hand held device the is filled with little plastic things. You manually apply the one at a time wherever the strings cross. They go in between the strings and can help protect your strings as well as keep them aligned

  3. Strings are going to move especially when you've recently strung a racket.  Stiffer strings like Luxilon don't move as much, but all strings will move.  Just straighten them in between points.  It's a great concentration technique as well as it keeps your eyes focused on something very small.  Watch the pros.  They do it too!
