Why is it that when I tell people I...?

skip breakfast and lunch most days, they get so angry!!!!. Why? It's not like I'm starving myself. They say I'm too skinny but I'm not really, I'm like 135 pounds (5ft7-8) x x x

I really wanna know why they get so wound up about it. Do they think it's stupid?

I'm trying to lose some weight (and i excercise regularly). xx thanks

  1. Skipping breakfast will make you fatter in the long run . You should continue to excercise but eat breakfast.


  2. well I dont know why people get "wound up" lol but really breakfast is such an important meal. If you skip anything, it should be lunch or dinner, but if you eat breakfast you will have more energy throughout the day♥

An Indian woman i once worked for told me "You should eat like a King in the morning,a Prince at lunch time and a Pauper in the evening."You on the other hand are starving yourself which will store any food eaten for energy later.If you were to think about it when do you use most energy morning or evening,also you would lose weight if you ate TEN small meals a day,but hey ignorance is bliss they say

  5. People get angry cos they care for you and you need to eat. Your bmi seems underweight and you say "I am not starving myself" but you arent eating!

  6. I know the feeling! I'm the same weight and height and people tell me often that I need to eat of gain a few lbs.. Most of the time they are saying these things b/c they care but it can get extremely annoying. I don't eat breakfast either but I rarely skip lunch. As long as your not skipping theses 2 meals for the purpose of losing weight I don't see anything wrong with it. Make sure you at least take a multi vitamin b/c your probaly not getting enough of what your body needs.

Daft people pocking noses into other peoples businesses, I never eat breakfast, don't need or want it, I eat midday, and people at work think I am a pig cause I am so hungry and enjoy a good meal and pudding. Then they are on at me how skinny I am. It is cause I never sit down at all like them in the office stuffing coke and sweets cake and crisps down their throats all day. I work 40 hours a week on my feet from 6.30 am  I will eat when I want which is midday. Tell them to butt out you are doing what you want!

  8. Because not eating makes you fat. Your body doesn't know when it's going to get nourishment next so it saves all the fat you DO eat "just in case". You best bet is to eat breakfast, snack, lunch, snack, and dinner; all these meals should be small and healthy of course, but this schedule is MUCH MUCH better than not eating your first two, most important, meals of the day.

    not really skinny- but

    i dont skip breakfast-

    i always eat fruits or soy milk (70 calories(

    with whole grain cereal (curves)

    but i dont do dinner-

    just a lil snack

    but thats no good ur not eating healthy-

    not big deal

    if ur not anorexic/bulimic


  10. well if your trying to loose weight missing breakfast is the worst thing that you can do because when you sleep your metabolism stops to aid your body to repair the metabolism doesnt start again until you eat something which kick starts the metabolism, also eating breakfast will fill you up stopping you eating more later on or snacking just have some fruit and a small bowl of cereal of crambled egg on toast

Well even if you ain't skinny, Its still important to eat at breakfast and lunch, Because sometimes if go on a long trip walking around for ages in a museum, etc without eating anything, you will feel a little ill and tired and you will possibly faint and embarrass yourself. It happened to my brother, he even lost consciousness.

  13. its not good to skip like that its more unhealthy and in fact puts more weight on. in fact wake up and have healthy stuff and burn off the fat that way you will be healthy and fit. you wont even look fat trust me.

    sometimes i do that but not cause im tryin to lose weight r any thing its just cause im not hungry. my friends sometimes say stuff to me but there only messing.

    they probably are just worried about you

    you should tell them to calm down and that your ok

  15. You're perfectly fine.  Today's truisms are tomorrows nonsense.  Eat when hungry.  A large breakfast is just a tasty way to put a sluggish start on your day.

  16. Maybe they love you and they don't want you to be ill because lack of nutrition. Some times people show they care by angry. But i thought that those people also need to learn how to angry properly :)

    people get soo wound up about everything.

    If you're healthy and fine then why should they worry.

    It's only when you're actually ill/sick that they should start worrying.

I know, I'm in the same boat...I never eat breakfast because if I do I feel sick and get really tired and feel like c**p all day...or rather, I do have "breakfast" which for me is a cup of hot tea and a small shake consisting of fruit juice, blended with berries and vitamins. Then I have a small lunch, an afternoon snack, and then supper. I also work out a lot.

    People get upset if I tell them how I eat, too, but I eat the way I do because that's the way I feel healthy. Everyone is different. you have to eat the best way that works for you. No one can tell you how you should or should not eat.

    It also bothers me when they say I'm "too skinny". (I'm 137 lbs, 5 ft 11 in.) and no one should think they have the right to judge on whether someone else is "too skinny" or whatever! It simply is not their place to judge you like that. They have many reasons for thinking what they do, I guess. Some are jealous, for sure, and some may be concerned because for their particular body, they would feel ill if they ate the way you do.

    Just do what works for you, go by how you feel. Health is the most important thing. I found it's best to simply not tell people things like that, because it's personal. It's none of their business, and you certainly don't need their negativity.
