And it's shown on the news or the internet they always just say seriously wounded but in a stable condition but never give us a detailed explanation such as if they lost limbs or not.Because there was a news article of an incident where some soldiers were injured from an IED blast and they just mention, seriously injured but in stable condition.I then read one of the comments who personally knows the soldier/s who were injured and he said (yeh that guy lost his arm and an eye) why did'nt they mention it in the news article then?

  1. This information is also getting passed through a number of sources and may not always be confirmed.  I would bet a lot of the time the news media doesn't know the specifics.

  2. Bombs are a cowards tool...designed to cause maximum damage....to usually the innocent..and its just assumed that they mame, or remove limbs or eyes.

  3. Detailing the individual injuries of the soldiers concerned would take up most of the news. The media people have competing news items and have to decide how much space to give to each story.

There is also the issue of Privacy, in that the families of those involved should be informed first, before details are splashed all over the media.

By the time of transmission, the exact state of the injured might have changed from when the information was made available to the media.

There is finally the question of good taste, as to whether it is not ghoulish to dwell on the misfortunes of the soldiers.

  4. why did you need to know that someone has lost a part of they body for????????????????????????????????????
