Question:

Why is it that when talking about abortion...???

...People who are pro-choice are called "pro-abortion"??? People automatically assume that those who are pro-choice support the idea of abortions but it really has nothing to do with that! Its all about the person in that particular situation having control of what happens to their body- and allowing them access to modern technology which would otherwise be useless.

Anyways, what i'm trying to say is that i don't think its fair to call people who are pro-choice "for abortion" per se, because it makes it seem unfair. (its not like were saying women have to have abortions!)

what do you think?

  1. There is no pro-choice; there is anti-abortion and pro-abortion. You are pro-abortion. Pro-choice is a euphemism that cowards hide behind who are ashamed to use the correct term of pro-abortion. Pro-life is another euphemism.

If you are for legalizing gambling, are you pro-choice?

If you are for legalizing illegal drugs, are you pro-choice?

The answer to both those questions is no, you are pro-gambling and pro-legalization of drugs.

Stop hiding behind euphemisms or stop supporting abortions. Try to regain some self-respect.

  2. The Supreme Court made the Law, the choice is over with.

The only choice women have is to zip or unzip. After that it's up to the Lawyers.

    EDIT:

I strongly suggest everyone read every word of the Roe V Wade decision. It isn't even about women's rights. It's about Liberty.

  3. I agree with your stance my body my choice, but i cant imagine ever choosing abortion.

Generally when people disagree it is common to think or speak of someone in a negative way. If you make someone feel bad it is perceived more likely that you will shame them into giving up their opinion. I find just the opposite if you insult someone they are likely to become more stubborn in their opinion.

  4. You want to talk unfair, how is it fair for the unborn baby to get aborted? You don't mind the idea of killing a baby inside its mother's womb, but you wouldn't do it yourself? Fine call it whatever you want, justify it anyway you can to make yourself sleep better at night. That's what being pro-choice is though, a nice clean way of saying I'm in favor of a woman killing her offspring before it is born, if she wants to. If they don't want a baby, there is modern technology available so as to not create life when they preform the act designed to create it, it's called contraception.

Look this up less than 1/3 of 1% of all abortions are the results of rape, that means for every 300 abortions, one of those women was an actually a rape victim. So your solution to broken homes of the world is to kill off future members of the family? Let's kill off the poor before they are born, and can cause more problems? Are you serious? The world not holding life precious and people accountable for their actions is the problem here, and it is not an excuse to take an innocent life, no matter how little good can come from that life.

Single woman, unplanned pregnancy, socially embarassing circumstances, not really ready to be a mother, no plan for the future, sounds pretty bleak. It was before 1973, or would there have been a Barrack Obama?

  5. I agree with you.  Many pro-life people are those who can only see the world in black and white, right and wrong.  So, to them if you are not pro-life, than you are pro-death= pro-abortion.   That's just the way they are wired, they can't really help it.  We are all who we are.

  6. You tolerate baby murder and your worried about how you are labeled?  Oh d**n, I'm so sorry I hurt your feelings over wanting to destroy life.

  7. I like to refer it to "Republicanism"...  It is their way of using soundbites that don't always make sense.  In fact most of the time they don't.

Abortion is a "wedge issue" for Republicans.  It gets them the votes of people that would easily otherwise be Democrats.  They have no disire to change the status quo on abortion.  If they were really concerned about it, they would have done something between 2000 and 2006 when the Republicans owned the White House and both houses of Congress.

  8. it shouldnt be pro choice it should be pro murder

    let the babies live

  9. Yes, I agree completely.  It is not that I am pro-abortion, but I am pro-choice.  And why aren't people that are pro-life simply called anti-choice.  It should be an issue of pro vs anti choice; not these other adjectives that skew the truth.

  10. I think that abortion is a private decision and that the government, various churches and their political arms and right winger's trying to drive a wedge between Americans have nothing to say about any abortion, other than their own.

Thousands of posts on abortion; none on adoption.

  11. Would you prefer anti-life? Pro-choice just makes the killing of innocent unborn people sound politically correct.

Being pro-choice means you are for the right for anyone for any reason to kill their unborn child. This, in my eyes, is pro-abortion. You are for abortion.

  12. Because saying "I agree with the woman's right to choose but I'm against abortion" just doesn't go together.

Being pro-life isn't being anti-choice because I believe the woman has the right to choose.  I just believe the choice happens when she decides to have s*x (rape is a different situation)

Since men have no say in rather a woman decides to have an abortion, pro-choicers are really only saying a woman has the right to choose.  Don't give me the "it's her body" c**p because a woman is only pregnant for on average 40 weeks, men being put on child support last for 18 years.

  13. Wonderfully put. I'm really hoping conservatives read and understand this.

Also, I'd like to add, wouldn't it mean so much more if a woman CHOOSES to have a child, as opposed to being forced to have one? Won't she show more love and compassion to a child she desired?
