  2. Yes, there are more molecules in the air, but it's because temperature affects the vapor pressure of the aromatic hydrocarbons.  They comprise most of what you smell.

  3. Heat has tendency to speed or accelerate a chemical process.  The smell is an indicator of something that is changing from one state to another state and heat will speed up that process and more fumes will be created.
