Why is it that when you learn a word, you start hearing it all the time?

    i guess we could hear it before too but its after learning that we can recognize that!

    and its not like, you just learnt it so you notice it everywhere- its like the world is putting everywhere all at once!

    yeah, i get that too....

    well it might be like, if your hear some french people talking on a bus, you dont get what their saying and you cant separate the words.

    but then you learn some french, and you can now understand what they are kinda saying, and you can separate the words.

    i think its just that if you hear the word, you were thinking about it recently so it pops out at the when you wouldn't usually be paying attention to whatever you're hearing/ listening to.
