Why is it that when you order something you can't send cash?

instead of money orders why won't they accept money

  1. Incase the employees at the other end steal the cash.


  2. It is easy by touch to tell if money is inside an envelope b/c of the grainy texture of money.  A postal worker will take your letter to the bathroom and take out the money.  It happens all the time.

    At least with a money order, you have the top copy for a receipt.  If the letter is lost in the mail and no one cashed the money order, you can get a replacement money order or your money back, depending on the company.

  3. You can send cash, but only at your own risk.  It would be foolish to do it.

  4. because there is no proof you ever sent the money other than you word on it, and that is not good enough nowadays.

    Why on Earth would you want to do something so dangerous as send cash?? If someone steals the letter, the cash is theirs and you have no way to prove otherwise..

    Be safe.... pay the 90 cents to buy a money order...
