Why is it that whenever I call Obama a...?

socialist I either get my question deleted or thumbs down??? Isn't a socialist state exactly what you liberals want. You know, big bad Obama in the White House so he can take other peoples money and provide for you without ever having to work a day in your life.

I am willing to bet Obama's presidency that my question is deleted in under five minutes.

Why don't you surprise us and instead of just name-calling, actually talk about something Obama's said that you disagree with, and tell us why you disagree?

No, i hate socialism and communism and I believe in fiscal responsibility, the kind of economic responsibility and fiscal surpluses we had under Bill Clinton.  And the kind of fiscal discipline we have in my state of Virginia every time we have a Dem governor.

Spell it out for us, exactly how is he socialist?  Here, I'll even provide you with a definition of socialism, and I want to hear exactly how he fits into it:

Socialism refers to any of various economic and political concepts of state or collective (i.e. public) ownership and administration of the means of production and distribution of goods and services, some of which have been developed into more or less highly articulated theories and/or praxis.

I'll wait and respond when you post something to answer this.

First off, there's nothing wrong with a definition from Wikipedia (actually, funny that, the definition comes from Merriam-Webster, Wikipedia just copied it and said it came from them.  I only just found out it's on Wikipedia)

OK, here's my response:

1. Large government isn't inherently socialist, in fact that's no where in the definition.  A large and powerful government is extant in capitalism and socialism.

2. Increased governmental control is also not socialist.  Tariffs are under the realm of governmental controls, and they're specifically meant to assist the capitalist elements of a country.

3. Universal health care is socialist, but that doesn't make him a socialist.  Supporting a single socialist idea doesn't make a person socialist.  Taxes are a method of socialism, though not in its purest form, and practically everyone in this country supports them, so one position is not enough.

4. Most people don't deserve health care?  I'm surprised to be hearing this.  Most people don't deserve a decent quality of life?  Socialist health care in other nations has led to better health nationwide, as it has also led to lower death rates and longer life expectancies.  If you want to argue against universal health care, use something better than "most people don't deserve" it.

I don't see the point in having a political section on Yahoo answers if your question gets deleted just because someone doesn't agree with you. I see no violation in your question. Perhaps you are wording your questions as statements...it's like jeopardy man, it has to be in the form of a question.

One of Obama's biggest issues is that he wants SOCIALIST healthcare...did you miss the SOCIALIST part? I don't know how someone could possibly label someone that is pushing for socialist healthcare as a socialist? Thats just absurd!
