Why is it that whenever i install a program on my mac the icon bounces in, and then out?

i have a mac g5

version 10.3.9

dual 1.8 ghz powerPC G5

the icon bounces in on my bar, then bounces out. i've installed the file properly, i think...

The icons bounce whenever they are being launched. If it bounces then disappears after you tried to start it I would say you have a problem. I would try repairing permissions or try something like Onyx to repair permissions. If it still doesn't work I would guess maybe it only works on an intel mac or you could try installing it again.
