Why is it that women always want the toilet seat down but will never put it up when they are done?

i am sick of this one way complaint.

Sometimes when a woman really needs to go she will just rush into the bathroom and sit down and if YOU left the toilet seat up then her butt will be stuck for a few moments.

Whereas, if your aim was as good as you claimed, it really wouldn't matter if the seat was up or down for you now would it?

Cause it makes a loud clank when it hits the tank and annoys me...and it looks like a commercial toilet with the seat up.  Like the kind in an airport or something :0

Stop whinging!  Complain about her peeing on the seat and leaving it down.

The reason the seat should be down.

(a) any inscet around can buz in for a drink than buz out and land on you or your food

(b) When the flush happens - (as the scientists have stated) tiny little bits of what has been deposited in there by the last user evaporate attached to the water molocules that fly up in the air - you breath this stuff in.

Actually the seat and the lid both should be put down...get over it, men get everything else they want, they can put the seat down.

I used to wonder why they made a big deal out of this.  After years of pondering I figured it out.  They assume it will be down, and sometimes just sit without looking, then they end up with their ****s in the water.

I'm sick of people whining about this nonsense.  If you don't like it, just do what I did and install a urinal in your bedroom.  Sure, my dates never go out with me a second time, but it is soooooo convenient after tossing back a six pack of lukewarm Piels.

Just have to connect the drain pipe somewhere one of these days.

Have you ever went to the bathroom in the middle of the night and not turned on the lights so you wouldn't wake anyone else and sit in water? Try it one night and see if you can figure out the answer... LOL it isn't much fun having a wet butt in the middle of the night because when it happens you seem to wake up everyone in the middle of the night.

not women, but a woman, your woman. most women appreciate that the seat is lift up when he use it, so there's no mess on the seat, therefor most woman don't complaint about the toilet seat being down. In honesty, you lift it up you should put it down.

As others said, both genders need to sit to p**p.  Plus women are more likely to wipe the seat when they dribble.  Men just let the pee land where it may.  Cold porcelain with dry pee is not what you want to accidentally sit on.  I agree with the posters who said the lid should be down all the time though.  I have lived with cats who are mesmerized by the toilet bowl water even when I make sure they have plenty of fresh, clean water in their bowl.

I thought of a great compromise, whenever anyone is done, they make sure that the seat and lid are both down, that way whenever someone comes along they always have to lift something up no matter what, also it would be more hygenic and there would be no risk of accidently dropping something in it if you have cupboard above or near it.

Honestly I can tell you why, some women are even stupid enough to not even bother to look and make sure the seat is down, which is crazy, as I ALWAYS check to make sure it is down no matter how badly I need to go. Maybe it is one of the few things women are lazy about that they will admit too, though they wouldnt call it being lazy.

If the seat is down when you try to pee, then the biggest problem is that you have to wipe the seat.

If the seat is up when I try to pee, I fall into the toilet and my butt gets soaked and it's disgusting having toilet water touch my privates.

Good question.  Women should put it back up out of respect for men.  They also need to learn how to iron clothes a little better.  Respectable guys don't like to wear wrinkled clothing.  Get with it, girls!

Yea, maybe you should have to go #2 in the middle of the night, and plop down unknowing that the seat is up.

woman use it down 100%, men 30 to 50%. That leaves the standers a minority.

Well, I don't really understand either side of the argument. It's seriously not going to kill you to reach forward and flip the seat however you need it.
