Question:

Why is it that women are treating Sara Palin like this?

I am horrified. The trashing that Gov. Palin is undergoing, just because she is succesful mother who is living proof that women can have a successful career and be a mom?

To see the most prominant women feminists in this country basically saying Sarah should be barefoot and pregnant and not trying to do a man's job is horrifying to me!

Judging her for her daughter's choice to have a baby?

Listen to yourselves!

I know it is because she is pro-life (anti-choice). But seriously, Roe will never be overturned. It can't happen. So stop worrying about it and stop trashing the governor, at least give her a chance to speak and show who she is!

  1. Feminists are threatened by a woman who can accomplish anything without embracing their liberal agenda.

  2. Palin is getting trashed because she holds some reactionary, if not bat-sh*t crazy ideas. I personally do not trust the judgment of anyone who believes the earth is 6000 years old.

  3. I'm a woman and I don't have anything against a woman working and being a mother. I have a job, go to school and have a daughter. I don't have any issues with Sarah Palin about that. My concern is that she's so inexperienced and her children are so young that it may take away from her ability to do her job. I'm definitely not judging her for her daughter's choice to have a baby, but her daughter should have chosen to use birth control if she was going to be sexually active. I'm also pro-choice, so I disagree with Sarah Palin on issues that actually are of importance in the election, not whether or not a woman with a family should work

  4. I don't believe they are trashing her...The public is being distracted by her personal affairs and are being taking off track of her political stance. Please stay on focus to the issues at hand and not the media blunder. The real question is: Will she be available to support her children, family and the USA? Yes. We have equality to men,but let's face the facts. Men were not built to take place of mom nor were women meant to take place of dad. The nurturing basis is different, many men have it, but not all come equipped naturally. Poor Palin seems to have been dragged into this campaign  and it seems as though her 17 year old and 4 month old will be the first to suffer. Her some is special and is very young.. he needs her attention now. If MCcain is gone after the day after his inauguration. She will be faced with some tough decisions..that many women even in executive positions that already held.

  5. I am a liberal feminist. I have not trashed Palin or her daughter at all for their family decisions, nor do I believe she should be "barefoot and pregnant".

    I do take issue with her insistence that public schools not provide s*x education beyond abstinence. If one does not want their child educated on s*x, then send him/her to a parochial school. My taxes are paying for the public school system, too.

  6. Last time we voted Beer we got Bush, hopefully we learned a lesson and won't fall for the "Soccer Mom" or "Moose Burgers" c**p..

  7. The claws always come out when a woman senses a threat. She is stronger, more capable, better looking, smarter, and can kill a caribou at 100yds. Men will love her.

  8. how old are some of you?

    "People are jealous because she's pretty!"  Are you kidding me?

  9. LOOK ... THIS LADY CHOSE TO STEP INTO THE SPOTLIGHT.

    STRAIGHT UP , IF YOU GO TO GET A JOB IN A FACTORY , YOU DON'T GET A PASS ON QUALIFYING JUST BECAUSE YOU ARE A WOMEN.

    SHE NEEDS TO GET THRU THIS.

    BOTH HILLARY AND PALIN NEED TO STOP CRYING , DISCRIMINATION , JUST THINK WHAT OBAMA AND MICHELLE WOULD GO THRU IF THEY HAD A PREGNANT 17 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER.

    SO BACK OFF WOMEN AND NEO-CONS, EVERYTHING EQUAL MEANS EVERYTHING EQUAL !!!!

  10. Democrats have shown what they truly think about women 'breaking the glass ceiling'.  All they really want to advance is liberalism.

  11. I don't think that women are trashing her.  They are just stating their opinion.  The question is, will she be a good President?

  12. Well said!  The feminists are jelous of her.  She is successful and pretty.

  13. You are no longer dealing with the Democrats of my generation.  You are dealing with Democrats highly influenced by the Socialist Party of America's decision to use the party as a front for their efforts (See Wikipedia: Socialist Party of America: Split).

    I've been fighting this fight for decades, and it is no longer about:

    free speech (including for Republican talk radio);

    free expression (including for fundamentalist Christians);

    equality (including for white men).

    I'm none of the above, save part white.

    I still believe in those values, but more and more I am dealing with people who:

    1) believe that the ends justifies the means;

    2) don't believe in "innocent until proved guilty";

    3) believe in socialism as the cure for things.

    So many Democrats have had it and left the party.  I can't.  I won't leave it to people who have abandoned the principles we fought for.

    Oh, don't get confused.  Remember the Clinton years?  There was TERRIBLE political bigotry on the part of SOME Republicans, just as it is reversed now.

    I don't think it will be solved until all of us who are patriots stand against all those who:

    1) hate half the country;

    2) see slander, libel, rumor-mongering, etc. as useful tools;

    3) put the rest of the world ahead of our own interests as a country.

    Then it will change.

    I may not agree with Republicans about every issue (far from), but I respect them as fellow Americans.  Most Democrats do, but they have been frightened into silence because they'll be called, "Neo-cons".

    I think that's now my middle name due to exposure.

    However, they should consider: What does it mean when they call someone a Republican for speaking up against the kind of rumor-mongering, slander, gossip, libel, and "guilty until proved innocent" treatment that Governor Palin has dealt with in just one week?

    Is Republican now a synonym for "Ethics"?

    I'd like to think Republicans have no monopoly on that, but we have to, as Democrats, start speaking up against such nonsense.

  14. It is because she is corrupt. Get a grip. Women are entitled not to like her because of her strange hypocritical values. I also think that any woman who values life so much is a hypocrite for hunting, a typically male practice ( knuckle dragging men, not real men). A ' good mother' doesn't necessarily translate to being a good vice president honey. Grow up.

  15. Pancakes is right.  Feminists have never been about the advancement of women, just the advancement of LIBERAL women, and a continued culture of objectification, victimization, entitlement, and self-righteousness.  Sarah Palin is a self-made successful career woman and mother who believes in conservative principles.  She is every feminists nightmare because if all of America's women were like her, feminists would actually have to go out into the world and get real jobs.

  16. i have nothing against her wanting to be successful and a mother as well, i just wish she would stop trying to push her morals on other people when she needs to take a look at what is going on in her own home. the facts are clear (ie she is for abstinence only education...something her daughter obviously didn't have..which is sad...i feel for the poor girl)

    i just do not like it when the religious right tells me what i should do. i said my peace.

  17. It's not the women-it's Obama's group. It's called mud slinging, because they know they are losing  now.

  18. Her daughter's "CHOICE" to have a baby?  So you're saying that her 17 year old daughter and 18 year old boyfriend PLANNED to have a baby?  LMFAO  You're crazy!  Her "abstinence" just didn't work out...and now Obama is topping 50%...it's over!

  19. No, it is not because of her daughter or her SuperMom Status.

    Most of the women I know (all that I have encountered) are horrified that a woman who is "pro-life" would endanger the life of her unborn child by:

    1) flying across the country when she is in her 8th month of pregnancy

    2) flying back across the country and driving for 2 hours away from a NICU after her water broke,

    increasing the risks of infection, labor complications, and yes, infant death...

    look it up...someone who is 44 years old, carrying a baby with Down's Syndrome, is a high-risk pregnancy and no doctor would approve of her flight. If doctor did, both doctor and mother showed terrible judgment and did not put this child's life first.

    AND YES, it is our business because a) her motherhood is virtually the only thing we know about her and b) it is our sons and daughters whose lives would be at stake IF she becomes COMMANDER IN CHIEF.

    just saying. it's not about abortion or the 17 yo, it's about the baby. Really, back to work in 3 days with no help. That is insane, not doing it all.

  20. We are not trashing her. We are simply pointing out that she is trash. There's a difference.

    For example, she believes in creationism, Creationism is trash.

    She believes that s*x education should be be taught in schools. Or, evidently, in the home. Abstinence only ed is trash.

    She belonged to an organization that supported the succession of Alaska from the US. If that is not a great star on the resume of Vice President of America, well what can be?

    You see, she's just too easy a target. I just did all this *FROM MEMORY* in a minute or two. Imagine if I did a 5 minute google search. IT IS JUST TOO HYSTERICAL TOO IGNORE! Sorry, man.

  21. agreed.

  22. I have to agree with your first responder.  Democrats have demonstrated their utter hypocrisy, as well as their own bigotry regarding women, during this entire primary/elections season.  Never, until this year, have I realized how hypocritical they are.

    However much people may disagree with her ideology, it is no reason to continually smear her.  Children should be off-limits, period.  Given the doctrine of stare decisis, Roe v. Wade is unlkely to ever be overturned, even with a pro-life Pres. and VP.  It says something that she has a 80-85% approval rating.  Not many politicians can boast that.

    You bots can give me the thumbs down as much as you want.  It just demonstrates  your own inability to see the truth.

  23. This is the best question I have read all day.

    So many were willing to vote for Hillary and she had absolutely NO qualifications at all!  I can understand they are Democrats who actually have no one better to vote for.  They have one standard for themselves and another for the rest of us.

    What I can't believe is the vitrolic diatribes of conservative women on here, and I can only think that they are jealous.

    After all, she is good-looking, educated, popular, experienced - everything we claim to want at the top.

    Her birth control (or lack thereof) is strictly between her and her husband.  She can do a fine job - just like Ronald Reagan.

    So, your question is one to which I would like to see a few honest answers.

  24. I think it shows Sarah's lack of judgement that she would go ahead and accept the nomination knowing what kind of attention her daughter will receive .  Bristol will have enough issues but to let the world see them too is irrisponsible parenting.  As a parent I lost a lot of respect for exposing her child to such harsh treatment.  She put her career over her own Child.  That it what is wrong with her.  If she is elect VP she said she will stop at nothing to get roeVwade overturned.  With Republicans in office another 4 years they can put a conservative judge in and get it overturned.  She also wants to creationism put into schools and take science out.  This chick is not good for our country
