  1. because Myanmar is a cooler name then Burma


  2. Because this is how you can show on a diplomatic way that you do  not like the junta ruling this country.

  3. The world does recognize the name. The people of Burma do not. It has been imposed upon them.

  4. its not the worlds decision... the Burmese are the ones who oppose it and it is mainly because the oppressive militant government that killed all those monks months ago and locked up the lawyers and dismissed the Parliament who decided to change the name

  5. Seems to me it does.  The news of the typhon is being referred to as happening in Myanmar not Burma.
