Why is it that you can't take your dog to the movies, and out to a restaurant, like they do in France?

Because it would irritate many people including me.  I like some dogs, but I wouldn't want some other person's dog trying to eat my food while I'm at a restaurant or a dog heavily breathing on me while I'm trying to watch a movie.  It wouldn't work out very well.

Because people can't be trusted to keep there pets quiet and clean up after them.  Besides, movies are so loud and with all the flashing lights, would that traumatize a dog?  I don't want lassie barking while I'm trying to eat and/or enjoy my movie.

Because people do not like eating with a hairy dog beside of them. They stink too, also at a theater it would annoy people because dogs bark...

Because the French are dirty, dirty people. Everyone knows that.

Because of all the French fries and french toast they eat. It reduces their brain size to slightly larger than Pluto. Simple math really.

For health reasons.But service dogs are ALLOWED everywhere,at the movies,restaurants,stores etc..

Service dogs are allowed it is  a Federal Law. Even if States laws do not allow it.

If you've ever been to a movie in France, you'll realize why you are allowed to take your animals. Many of the movie theaters, even in the theater district in Paris, are dirty and have not been updated. Furthermore, when there are many animals, it tends to be more noisy. If you found it annoying that the person sitting next to you talking to her boyfriend about why he doesn't communicate anymore, you'd find a yippy little lap dog to be twice as bad. Thank goodness for that in rule in most US theaters.

Different countries, different laws. Some states you can smoke in the restaurants, some you can't. Some states you can drive and talk on your cell phone, some you can't.  It's just their law.
