Why is it that your mouth opens when you put on mascara ?

Question

When applying mascara on your eyes , why is it that your mouth naturally flops open ? I can think of no helpful reason why it would do this lol !

I think it's because you're opening your eyes so like your mouth kind of opens too .. like a way of keeping your eyes open.

Maybe it just means all your features are opened so you don't have to jsut concentrate on your eyes...

you actually always dont. i got a fwd about that, but it was true for me for a while but sometimes i dont automaticaly open my mouth. maybe its cuz were so concentrated on getting ti right that we dont pay attention to the other parts of our faces? idk lol

bc its easier bc it stretches our ur face making it less hard too apply it. ( happens when u put on eyeliner too )

hahaha i don't know, it barely makes a difference. i tried to do it with my mouth closed and i got it on my eyelid, lol

its just a thing that I guess everyone kinda gets used to doing,....like I can close my mouth if I think about it while Im applying it...its just the natural thing to do i guess.

I don't do it...because...I'm usually late for work and I have to put it on my way to work in the train and I dont want to look ugly...so I got used to not making that ugly face...

but we do it because it stretches the eye down...it widens the eye for easy application

it's an automatic response, because it allows your eyes to open wider.  It also holds your cheeks taut so they dont mess you up.

whenever my girlfriends are around me when I put mascara on they make fun of me, but then tell me they do it to.

I don't do it, some people open their mouth when they're concentrating really hard.

It's a reflex of the jaw to loosen as you widen your eyes. Of course, this doesn't happen for everyone, but the majority of people will find that if they open their eyes wide, their jaw will drop slightly, and as you are concentrating on doing something else, your mouth will open as well.

because the skin on your face tightens and the surface you draw on (your eyes) gets harder and easier to draw on!
