  2. at 51 getting wed on the 27th sept and then going to Kenya for 2 weeks it is taking a long time to get here, how old do i have to be before it gets faster,

  3. Psychologically speaking, time perception is logarithmic, sort of like the markings on a slide rule.

Enlarge the image and notice the distance between 1 and 2 on the C and D scales is much larger than that between 9 and 10. As we age, we see the markings on our slide rule of life getting closer and closer.

  4. It has to do with the quantity of time.  When you are young, the quantity of time is in seconds.  When you get older, the quantity of time is in days, weeks, months, or years.

  5. Because, for example when you are 4, a year makes up 1/4 of your life so far which is alot compared to when your 18 and a year makes up 1/18 of your life. Hence, the younger you are - the longer the year feels as you havent lived as many years.

  6. Probably because you're preoccupied with time passing instead of continuing to live in the moment. Stay young!

  7. It doesn't. You've just lived so long that the years start to blend together. It only seems short in hind sight.

  8. Well, I think when you are young you are too busy trying to discover and figure out all there is out there.  You want to have fun and you have the energy to take on almost anything.  When you get older, you have to work and still you may want to play but there isn't as much time for it.  Also, you get caught up if you have a partner, marriage, etc. and that takes away from your extra time as well.  Children in your life definitely take up a lot of your time.  So in reality, getting older just makes you realize how short life can be and how hard it is to fit everything in it.  The elderly know that each day is a blessing to still be here.

  9. hahaha. Grandpa's gonna die soon.

  10. it'll slow down...

  11. When you get older you've 'been there and done that' in many aspects of your life and day-to-day life provides less novelty and excitement.  Months and years blur together and seem more or less the same.

  12. After a certain age you no longer  a clock watcher, nor do you place a lot of thought on time, you start to relax and enjoy the moment ant then gee where did the time go.
