  1. In Ohio, you cannot have s*x with someone if you are older than 18 and less than 16. Basicially, if you are over age, you have a two year gap in which it isn't illegal. There is no consent under 13.

The reason for much of the law being written like this is a factor of many things, mostly, we  no longer consider a child able to marry at a younger age, because humans are able to live longer. Other things like mantally children aren't able to understand completly s*x, and older people are able to take a mental advantage, to take a sexual advantage over them.

Mostly, our country was founded on Quaker and other prostant values, we are a very conservative country compared to many other countries in our class. Who's to say that every 15 year old should be able to have s*x with an 18 year old? But, on the other hand, kids are still considered property of their parents until adulthood, and as the property owner they have everyright to get justification and reminification if their property is damaged by an adult, who is supposed to be responsible and mature to follow the law.

  2. Laws have changed drastically.  The majority of older citizens did not have s*x before they were married.

  3. The answer varies by state and region. Three years is the general rule before someone will be prosecuted for statutory rape. In order to be charged with statutory rape one person must be under the age of consent and the other, generally speaking, must be at least three years older.

My spouse and I are almost eight years a part in age and we met when both of us were over the age of 18. The only time the law cares is when it is a minor under the legal age for sexual consent and provided both of you are at least 18 the law does not give 'a hoot' about the age difference.

  4. you don't get arrested for the age difference just for having s*x with someone that is underage and rightly so.

  5. I have never heard of this before save for if one is a minor. My ex fiance was 14 years older than me, and I met him when I was 18.

  6. The only reason they will get arrested for just being older is if the other is underage.

I'm 7 years older than my girlfriend and haven't been busted. Mind you she's 33.

  7. because, if ur young, its easier for an older someone to pressure u into having s*x.....idk, but its the law. if ur a minor
