Why is it very difficult or impossible to get a visit visa to enter USA from an Asian country.?

My niece received an invitation to attend a Blind Council conference in Washinton, The fees were paid, ticket was purchased, the commitee sent the acceptence letter too. But the Visa officer refused to issuse the visa, when questioned he mentioned that it is his decision.

  1. Because so many people come to the US for XXXXX reasons, like it here and try to stay, as illegals. If the visa officer suspects that she might want to stay, he has the right to deny visa, and that's that. Seen it too many times.


  2. It is difficult to get a visa for ANYONE to legally enter the US at this time due to the fact that we are in a war... and 6 years ago had terrorists attack our country.

  3. He is right. If your wish to enter my home, I have full right to deny your visit. If you are good, I can allow you to come in. I can not allow all to come in.

  4. Strickly speaking, the consular officer is correct under the law. US immigration law requires the visa applicant to satisfy the interviewing officer that they will return after a short stay in the US. The applicant has the burden to prove that they are not an intending immigrant and has to show strong social and economic ties to their country. That can be difficult for a young person, man or woman, especially if they are from a country where people typically leave to find work and have never traveled outside of their country before.
