Question:

Why is it when I ask people who vehemently say that global warming is caused by humans...?

"why is mars getting hotter as well?" They say things like "that has nothing to do with the earth?" or something really ridiculous like that?

Do they not realize they are being used and brainwashed by Al Gore's supposed "mass persuassion"?

For those of you who believe we are causing it, I'll ask you again. "why is mars getting hotter in much the same way and earth?"

Scientists are saying it, why are you listening to a man who clearly has another agenda?

  1. There are more questions they refuse to address.

    Like:

Why during the most rapid increase in industrialization ( the 4 decades following WW2 ) did the global temperature decrease?

What caused the medieval warm period since there was no human industrialization at the time.

What caused the medieval warm period to end and the "Little Ice Age" that followed it.

If CO2 is the cause of global warming, why does temperature increase happen BEFORE CO2 increase?

  2. Just when i thought I have seen it all, someone like you comes along... I hear uranus is hot also

  3. What amazes me is how people will listen to someone who is one of the worst offenders. Is the earth warming up? Of course it is. If not we would be walking on glaciers. Is it our fault? Yes, some of it is but not like the scare mongers are saying. The earth has been around a long time and has gone through many changes. If what  Gore and his crowd is saying is true then it must have been the dinosaurs passing gas the killed them off. I think its time we started to put a stop to these jerks scaring our kids.

  4. Why is Mars getting hotter? Because the Sun is putting out more heat. It is part of a normal solar cycle. We'll be heating up for the better part of the century, then we will head into a cooling cycle.

Of course, none of this will happen in time to prove Al Gore wrong. By the time natural cooling begins, my children will be old and living on a cooling Mars.

  5. Awesome!!!! I've found a fellow skeptic! I totally agree with you! Don't people look at the facts? I mean, Earth changes! It's nothing to be scared of. Don't listen to Al Gore, anyone!!

  6. I can't explain why the Al Gore version is being accepted.  I think it's a tendency to want to be fashionable and part of the herd.  The fact is that the "science" doesn't withstand the scrutiny that would be given a high school science project.

First of all, the alleged consensus of scientists on the issue is non-existent.  There is a consensus of environmental politicos, but the scientists, REAL degree carrying, independent-research scientists are a long way from clear on the cause-and-effect relationships.  The models that predict doom in our lifetimes do not accurately predict the past, and any scientist that would use a model that does not predict the past is not a scientist.    Finally, a simple web search and time to read articles will reveal dozens of PUBLISHED articles by credible scientists who not only say it is all BS, many complain that the Al Gore camp has blatantly falsified claims that they do, in fact, subscribe to the doomsday theories.

Second, the theory itself makes no sense at all.  96% of the greenhouse gases are water vapor.  Only 4% or less is even CO2, and if we actively attempted to double that, I would find it more likely that it would encourage more plant growth than warming, because doubling CO2 might double the effects on plants, but only represent a 4% increase in greenhouse gases.

Oh my god, I think the next Al Gore book will be about how we're going to be eaten by cabbages if we don't go Carbon Neutral.

Well, if he does, I'm sure the same people will believe that, too.

  7. It appears to me that there are less of the sky-is-falling crowd out there, or maybe they just aren't as vociferous as they once were.  there are so many compelling arguments against all the hype that I don't know how any thinking person could buy into all this nonsense.  Sure, I believe there is global warming - that idea is old news.  But to claim that man is to blame is stretching the limits of absurdity.  The alarmists recite all the scientists who have jumped on the GW band wagon but they don't talk about the scores of scientists that don't believe it.  My reasoning is that if scientists don't have anything to gain by speaking out against something, they probably won't in most cases.  Those scientists who rely on research grants are going to say whatever they need to so their funding will be secure.  I also think it's interesting that John and Teresa Kerry are now writing a book about global warming.  Apparently it worked so well for their buddy Al Gore that they're going to give it a try.

  8. Because people are closed-minded idiots, that's why.

They'll believe anything the left tells them without any rationalization.

It's obvious Al Gore has an agenda....the 2008 elections are coming up and what better way to get votes than to give the appearance of being an Earth saving hero?

And by the way, the changes in the climate are CYCLICAL!

I thought it was especially funny when a few weeks ago it got incredibly cold...record lows, and those same people were explaining it with Global Warming. Does that make any sense. Haha!

Good thing most of these idiots don't vote anyways...all talk no action.

  9. Saying that Mars' shrinking polar caps disprove that people are causing global warming is just as bad scientifically as saying that man made carbon dioxide is definitely causing it. Both theories are plausible. But it is more complicated than just saying Mars shrinking polar caps must be caused by changes in the Sun and by no other cause, or that Earth's melting glaciers are caused by man made carbon dioxide and no other cause. It is just way more complicated than that!

We don't need Mars to measure the heat of the Sun. The energy output of the Sun is measured very accurately by Earth orbiting satellites. And those satellites are not showing an increase over time.

And here is a quote from your own link:

"The conventional theory is that climate changes on Mars can be explained primarily by small alterations in the planet's orbit and tilt, not by changes in the sun."

So it is just more complicated than "it must be the Sun" or "it must be CO2". But politicians and interest groups don't want to confuse people with the facts. They just want people to do what they are told. This is true of both sides in this argument.

I say again, it is not so simple. There is too much bad science and political pressure going on here to sort out the truth!

  10. I'll counterquestion you. What is wrong with having as much as possible of this:

    Just imagine breathing fully.

    Hm?

  11. Scientists checked the hypothesis that solar radiation increases were responsible for global warming.  They found it was only a minor factor.

There is no "debate" any longer on the causes of global warming.  But the right-wing is welcome to go on beating the dead horse. It will keep you out of the way while the rest of the world figures out how to solve the problem.

Of course, that means you won't have a voice in how the future--including your future--is mapped out.  But that's your choice.  Get up to speed or get left out.
