Why is it when I go to Macy's, JCP, ect. they say they don't do bra fittings?

That would require someone with experience to help you selct the proper item.  if you didn't like it, there is usually a no return policy on intimate apparel, so they would be on the hook for it.  Go to a better store for a fitting and when you find the right size, you can shop anywhere.

Maybe because they no longer do bra fittings, therefor they say "we don't do bra fittings".  How much simpler can it get?

They may not be training their sales people to perfom bra fittings.

you do but what about the person who tried it on first....???? its a good, hygienic policy. i mean, really, if they allowed it, how would you feel if you came home and discovered eeky skin rashes after trying on that fabulous beau bra?

EDIT: I'm having a slow day, I get it now. It's probably got nothing to do with your hygiene, but their staff. If they're not trained, do you really want them fitting your bra?

They don't want to be sued for some sort of sexual assault, it is america after all.

I used to work for JCP, I know when they changed their store format that they cut out a lot of services like bra fittings. I believe the reason may be because it is no longer a commission area for the sales associate so they are no longer require to fit people.

Places like Dillard's and Nostrum's are still a commission base place for  those ladies working in lingere. You may want to go there to be fitted. Even if you feel their bras are too expensive, at least you know what size you wear and can go back to Macy's or JCP to buy your bras.

I wouldn't go to Victoria Secrets because a lot of times they tell you you're the wrong size so they can sell you a bra.

I'm a 34 DDD & they tried to tell me I could fit a 38D, which didn't fit at all! It was too big & small at the same time.

I know JCP has a special day they do bra fittings...go to Victorias Secret, their people do them every day LOL
