Are you people jealous?

Look at Lleyton Hewitt, Wayne Carey, and Greg Norman....these sports man are prime examples of people's jealousy. If you you had done the same thing as Ben Cousin's....you would not make the news. Why? Because you are not as high profile as he is.

Ben is only human, like you and me. Give him a fair go. Just because he has money and is out of control.....you can't just kick him while he is down. The bloke needs help... not your critisim and jealousy. Aussies are known to help the out in all sorts ways when it comes to charity and natural disasters, but are also quick to shoot down a HIGH PROFILE personallity.

P.S I know you are going to give me sh*T, but at least I can say...I never ever put anyone down because they have money and fame.

  1. this is because wen something happens to a big star like ben cousins the reporters r onto him to get more money from there boss

  2. The media change our opinions very quickly hey.

I dont like putting people down either if you do its just pure jealousy

  3. hmmm!  if he was trapped as a young man & got hooked on drugs i do feel sorry for him then but if he made a choice to do it just to cheat at sport & make him fast etc

well i have no sympathy for him then!!

as for people who CHEAT on their partners etc its not good because that makes them liars & untrustworthy people & they are the worst in my opinion as they could always  end their relationship before they cheat!

now I have no problem with Lleyton because what did he do thats wrong?? he is just stressed etc

i never put them down just because they lose

i can understand to some extent why Shane & some cheat because women throw themselves  at them  24/7 & they can only think of one thing at a time lol :)

but i still love you Kev for sticking up for them shows you are a caring guy! xx

  4. i agree Big Kev

its a Aussie tradition ,and its not a good one

what i don't like is people who put him down and then the next day say what a superstar he is

  5. Exactly agree with you there hun. xoxo :)

  6. Thanks Big Kev unfortunately the good old tall poppy syndrome is alive and well in all walks of life and the media feeds it.

  7. best story, more money

  8. From what I can see on the  Ben Cousins threads, the vast majority  of people support his plight, and wish him well, regardless of the team that they support.

He was targeted by his own club officials, and the law, who wouldn't give a hoot about his health or well being.

WCE gave lip service about how they were concerned about his mental stability.

If they where so concerned, why did they give him the flick so quickly.

I don't know so much about the jealousy aspect with the other high profile people that are mentioned, its probably more about ethics and infidelity

  9. Maybe because they act like jerks in every aspect of their lives, especially the blokes you name. A bit of humility and regard for others every now and then might result in a little sympathy when they stuff up

  10. its not because there jealous

but they get paid to do what they do

and what they do is play sport well but also be a role model to society and all the people that look up to them. if they do something wrong thats like us stuffing up at work you are going to get in the **** for it.

so yeah thats why the media is so harsh on them because they are paid to behave and not bring there clubs or sports name and reputation down

  11. Yes, Big Kev, people are jealous.

    Got it in one!

Let someone rise to the top, do something wrong and BANG! 'Shoot em down!!

When in fact, most of the people shooting them down have probably got more skeletons in their closets than these 'celebrities' but nobody sees what the average Jo gets up to!

Imagine if every drug user, cheater, corrupt person had his/her name splattered across the newspapers every day?

For one there wouldn't be enough paper in Australia to write their sorry hypocritical names on it anyway!!

    Makes me laugh!!

  12. Criticizing and jumping on the 'bandwagon' is just human nature I guess.

I have NEVER been a fan of Ben Cousins, Wayne Carey or Greg Norman - regardless of what scandal they are caught up in.  No way would I ever be jealous of these people - money isnt everything.

  13. Exactly, Ben needs a break from all of this. He is not the only one who has taken drugs in sports. What about other sports stars?

  14. From my point of view he needs support and he is an extremely talented player... The pressures of what he and other players are under we will never been know as we are not in their shoes. I believe you are entitled to your opinion and it is good you have voiced it the way you have.

My only issue with this story on Ben is that when will high profile people no matter who they are, or what their talent is stop doing this to themselves, it is sad. We do look up to these people, and then they seem to let us down but more importantly let both their family and themselves down. I think losing his contract was the only way they were going to take the pressure of him and allow him to get the treatment he needs. Who knows he may think after all this he is not above the law, and learn from the mistakes that any drug user needs to learn, drugs will never change what is in front of you, only makes it clouded for a short period of time.

Good luck Ben, hope the treatment you get works this time, and we get to see your talents one day again...
