Why is it when the olympics comes around everyone is suddenly american ?

This being there is no i am african/mexican/asian american. Just american. Now when the olympics is over it will all change

Because people become patriotic and only see the stars and stripes on the flag instead of black or white skin color of the athletes. Unfortunately it doesnt last. For example Henry Cejudo, the son of Mexican immigrant parents, won a gold medal for the US and everyone seemed proud of him because of that, but after the Olympics is over, right wingers will simply see him as another "anchor baby".
