Why is it whenever I get pregnant I want a new pet?

I got a kitten when I was pregnant with my daughter, and now that I'm pregnant with my son, I want a puppy.

Has this happened to anyone else?

Well this is my first pregnancy and i really want a ferret.I dont know why but for some reason i just really want one.

Yes, I did that.  I got a puppy when I was 4 months pregnant with my daughter.  I HAD to have it.  I couldn't tell you why, but I would think it's a maternal kind of thing, like being anxious to have your baby and care for it already.  I hope it doesn't happen to me again with my next baby!

Haha yes! I got a bunny! Begged my husband! I have a dog already, him and the bunny play! Then 2 months later he made the mistake of taking me into a petsmart and we left with 2 birdies! I'm horrible! I call them all my kids! My puppys spoiled rotten and he acts more human than most people lol! He's been around since before I got prego tho!

Ha, yes, I bought a new rat (we already had 3) when I was about 8 weeks.

lol thats friggin cute!!! it hasnt happened to me because my hubbz is going to iraq for a year n i cant watch a puppy and a baby by myself, so im gunna wait for him to come home. but atleast ur son and daughter have their own pets;)
