  1. Hi,

No its better to buy from a breeder as they will let you see te bird and handle it and they will give you help and advice as to how to look after the bird, and it better for the bird as petshop ones are normally untame and will bite.

  2. Breeders are the best place to get your bird, just make sure they are good, ethical breeders that care about their birds.  Like hand feed correctly, don't sell unweaned babies, test their stock for diseases, etc..

  3. It is never wrong to buy from a breeder. Breeders have pros and cons.

The pros are that they are handled (most probably) as chicks, and are used to humans. They are less likely to bite you, or just not notice you all together. They may be more friendly towards you, and easier to train. You'll be able to handle it before you buy it, while you can't in a petshop.

The only con is that there is a possibility that those chicks are only bred to reel in money to the breeder. But you see, that shouldn't honestly affect you buying it. The only thing affected by that is the poor chick, itself.

Petshop parrots aren't bad either, since they are handled frequently by people working in there. However, it's not the exact same as having them handled since they were chicks.

I would recommend going for the breeder parrot.

Good luck & I hope you found this informative :)

  4. Hello.

Sadly , yes there are some cons in every where . However, from the most part , buying birds from breeders are the best to compare with buying birds from the stores . One thing, the breeder have hand fed birds so it would be better for pets , second , the price is much better than pet stores , last but not least ...with honest _ good breeders , they will have records from the bird , so you know about your bird's history . I went to the pet stores to buy the birds when I first started to breed birds ...some pet stores have no idea which one is male or female , or if they are related to one or another ( for breeding purposes ) , or the age , in fact , they ONLY know how much it cost  and that's all . All you have to do is do the research on the breeder which you want to buy , ask questions to see if that breeder knows or answers truthfully and make a comparison before you buy it , trust me, it will be worth it . TM.

  5. not that it is wrong but some breeders dont care about their animals and are only concerned about the money that the animal can make them. research the breeder before buying. remember hand raised parrots are going to be recptive to your touch and make interacting with the bird much easier.
