I know people who have a cow if someone drops and f-bomb, but they'll loudly make remarks about someone being "ugly" or "fat" or "tacky" or a "s lut" or whatever. To me, the latter is a form of profanity and in fact is worse than the former because of the personal nature of the comment and intent to hurt someone's feelings or lower their self-esteem. Your thoughts?

  1. to me those words are bad words to my kids will be in so much trouble if they call someone fat ugly or any other personal remaks

  2. I completely agree.  One is just questionable language.  The latter is designed to hurt.

  3. I see your point.

  4. Good point - it's not ok. Some people just jump at the chance to accuse someone else of being inappropriate, while refusing to admit to their own flaws. Mean is mean in any kind of language.
