  1. Trees absorb CO2.  So when we cut trees down it makes it harder for the remaining trees to absorb the same amount of CO2.  There's so much CO2 and not enough trees to absorb it all so it gets stuck in the atmosphere which heats up the Earth.  Which eventually causes Global Warming.

  2. It is not as at present  we have enough plants to do the job.

  3. There are many advantages of trees. They are the base of our nutrition. They are the natural AC's.They are the only source of Oxygen.Researches show that under the shade of trees the temperatures could be up to 10degrees less than surrounding areas. And trees are the only natural habitat of terrestrial animals. They absorb carbon dioxide which is a greenhouse gas. They also prevent soil erosion. They attract rain bearing clouds and they also incrase the level of underground water

Instead of using wood for furniture we can also use metal which are reusable.

  4. It's not always wrong. Trees store up carbon dioxide from the atmosphere, reducing greenhouse effects, as well as provide habitat for animals, and offer many other good things. However, wood products are used for many things so if the tree cutting is done in a sustainable way then it can be a positive thing.

  5. trees are the major land based filter of the air, breathing in the CO2 and particulate matter converting it to oxygen(for us animals) and releasing cleaned up O2 back into the environment.   Trees also provide shade, soil stabilization (as the roots hold the dirt together), they constantly make dirt out of rocks by the roots cracking the rock little by little.  It provides habitate for animals and a windbreak and because they hold water, act as a temperature regulator.   If you were in the desert you would know that because the nights get cold and the days hot whereas the treed areas the extreme temperatures do not happen so quickly.   And besides, if we cut down all the trees, what do we have to swing from?

  6. it increases pollution and soil erosion

even if you cut down any tree you should plant two

  7. if you cut down trees your taking away something that is beautiful and one of the things that gives us air away. why would people want to do that for anyways. if you cut one down then you should plant 2.

  8. There is nothing wrong with cutting down trees.  Once a tree gets to where it has market value it should be cut down.  As far as planting trees when they are cut down is not needed  in a hardware forest. If you do not remove some of the crown the young growth will die off, however if you remove the trees properly not only will the forest reseed itself it will become healthier for everyone. I cannot speak  for the forest to the west they have to harvested differently and trees may have to be planted.

There is no one way to harvest a forest because the species are different based upon the region.  So one policy cannot fit the entire nation.   Since I was raised in a family who were loggers I have seen what good logging practice produces and what bad produces.  If a timber stand is old and mature and starting to rot it produces CO2 rather then consume, when the undergrowth dies and becomes dead wood, you get wild fires during the dry season.  Sometime environmental policy is not good for the environment at all.

  9. tree cutting resuts in a variety of problems.....from soil erosion to global warming.....(search -defforestation on wikipedia for detailed results.

  10. It is not always wrong. Sometimes trees have to be cut down because they are too close to a dwelling and could damage it.  Also they can buckled foundations. One just should not go out just to cut trees down to be cutting them. Then the argument could go to the point to if it is wrong to pull a plant out of the ground to eat it.  The thing is that God gave man dominion over the world at the beginning of time.

  11. they pretty much hit on everything except for the consequenses of losing species. our ecosystem is like a brick wall, you knock out one brick (species) no big deal. if you knock out enough the entire wall falls down including us.

  12. Hey! trees are known as lungs of the environment as they are the purifier of the environment imagine the body without a lung if u can imagine then same will be the condition of the earth without TREES.
