  1. Global warming means climate change. Because of human dependence on fossil fuels, garbage dumps and cutting down rain forests over time- the climate is changing drastically.

I live in Michigan, United States. Currently where I live, we are actually in a drought.Which isn't good for farm crops and other things that depend on water.

  2. Just depends on the way the wind blows

  3. U.S. National Overview

    July 2008

    National Climatic Data Center

    Updated 11 August 2008

I live in Missouri we have broken our all time record for rain fall.

(February—July on record. Missouri's average of (37.5 inches) is (15.2 inches  above average.)

I don't know what part of the US you are talking about.

    Precipitation Highlights

This was the 40th wettest July in the 1895—2008 record. An average of 2.9 inches (74 mm) fell across the contiguous U.S. this month, which is 0.1 inch (4 mm) above average.

July was much wetter than average for the Northeast. The Northwest experienced the 15th driest July on record.

Seven states received much above normal precipitation during July while 11 had above normal precipitation,((( 8 states received below normal precipitation, and only Idaho and Louisiana received much below normal precipitation.)))) Vermont had the third wettest July on record, while Massachusetts and New Hampshire ranked fifth wettest for July.

***February—July was the wettest on record for the Central U.S.*** and the 3rd wettest for the Northeast. In contrast, the Western U.S. experienced the 3rd driest February—July on record.

Illinois, Indiana, Missouri, and Ohio each experienced the wettest February—July on record. Missouri's average of 37.5 inches (952 mm) is 15.2 inches (385 mm) above average.

  4. The Azores High is a weather system that sits over the Azores and allows the jet stream to bring good weather to the UK in summer. It's not been in place since early may. This allows wet weather to dominate the UK through low weather systems that should pass over Greenland, Iceland and south of the polar ice.

I have no  knowledge of what affects US weather, sorry.

El Ninio, the jet stream and the gulf stream are all significant factors in UK weather so I would guess that El Ninio will be a major player in US weather patterns.
